Internship Experience
1. Teaching assistance of Advanced Engineering Analysis Sep2015~April 2016 a. Helped student solve practice problems by using MATLAB & Simulink b. Graded the exam
2. Dongfeng Motor Corporation, Wuhan, Hubei, China June 2012 ~ Aug 2012
Get engine hand-on assembling and structure component training
Helped designers improve their design and learn how to release product
Get DFB 1 transmission and DCI 11 engine assembly line training a. Shell mesh for chassis assembly
b. Solid (Tetra) mesh for engine assembly for stress quality c. Vehicle seat meshing
d. Vehicle frames meshing
e. Seating system model build up for crash analysis. 3. Group project: Abaqus Modeling mesh, Dongfeng Motor Corporation Wuhan, Hubei, China
a. Set up the model using standard contact pairs.
b. Set up the model using general contact
c. Input the tress rack gear mesh file into Abaqus/CAE. Then analysis the structure stability. 4. Model Development project Dongfeng Motor Corporation Wuhan, Hubei, China The FE modeling of parts are meshed like cylinder head, crankcase and assembly components (linear assembly). After completion of the meshing, we create a solid mesh (tet mesh) and export to the Abaqus. We prepare the post processing work like given the surface definitions (contact surfaces). a. Using ANSYS FLUENT, it is possible to visualize the mixing phenomenon in the elbow region as a function of inlet velocities, Temperatures and pressures. b. Meshing and TFA analysis: Meshing the geometry using ANSYS Meshing ApplicationSetting up the CFD Simulation on ANSYS Fluent
c. In order to improve the model we decreased the diameter of the middle cross section of the Laval Nozzle from D1=2 in to D2= 1 in.
Project Experience
1. Crash Process Modeling (Based on Abaqus)
Build the 3-D model to simulate the process of supersonic powder crash
Perform finite element analyses for the model using Abaqus. Try different models (SPH, Johnson-Cook, PTW) and compare with the experimental data
Find the best model for cold spray process and plot the Temperature-Time and Strain-Stress diagram
Research on high strain rate crash simulation (Johnson-Cook fails) 2. Nozzle Temp. and Gas Speed Simulation (Based on Ansys& HyperMesh)
Simulate different nozzle geometries and different nozzle shapes
Built the 3D model in Catia and conduct the 3D model to Hypermesh
Conduct FEA for the models and get the Nozzle temperature distribution and gas speed distribution along the nozzle
Analyze the result, and change the geometry to reduce the shock wave
Finally, get the optimal nozzle shape and write the report 3. Senior Design: Vibration Energy Reclaiming System (Based on CATIA & physical prototype )
Analysis and Selection of Final Design
Create Transmission Selection and Filter Circuit and Load
Describe the function of vibration of sprung body.
Find the vertical relative velocity of sprung mass with respect to wheels.
Find the power dissipation of the damper.
