SUMMARY:
Hands on experience with optical equipment including Lasers and fab environment.
Excellent command over all optical networks including SONET and SDH
Strong OOPs concepts using JAVA, programming in Python and implementing network protocols using JAVA
EXPERIENCE:
1. Project Associate, Indian Institute of Technology Madras Chennai, Tamil Nadu - October 2015- Present
Identification of partial discharges in transformers by elastic wave sensing based on Fiber Bragg Gratings
- Partial Discharges (PD) in a transformer deteriorate its insulation and can lead to failure of the transformer. When Partial Discharge activity occurs, it generates acoustic waves up to 500 KHz Accomplishments:
Detected acoustic signatures of the Partial Discharge using the fiber Bragg Sensor.
Designed a system that includes a Fiber Bragg Sensor and a multi-channel Dynamic Interrogator using BitScope micro controller programmed with Python to monitor Partial Discharge activities in the transformer
2. Senior Executive, Stayzilla.com
Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India - January 2015 - September 2015
Acquired information about the hotels in all over India, got tie-ups on a contract basis and maintained detailed records for procedural purpose.
Promoted as a senior executive and coordinated a team of 12 in implementing management strategies to deliver value-added services.
3. Senior Project Fellow, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India - January 2014 - July 2014 Project-1: Large scale fabrication of sub wavelength nano-gratings for energy and bio-photonics applications
Built a simple and cost effective Lloyd’s interference lithography setup and fabricated dielectric gratings on the glass substrate with the period of 1.8 micrometers.
Simulated metal gratings (Gold, Platinum and Silver gratings) using Lumerical’s FDTD, GSolver software packages.
Built an optical setup for characterizing gold gratings. Project-2: Providing security solutions using Ultraviolet light fluorescent based security tags
Made a device with ‘UV light source - color sensor detector’ optical setup to detect fluorescent color from the security tags.
