Marathon Oil Corporation – Houston, TX and Grand Junction, CO

HSE Supervisor (2010-2015)

Accountable for HSE strategy and execution of various HSE programs across Marathon Oil’s onshore and offshore operations. Managed reporting of all accidents/incidents and ensure effective corrective measures were implemented. Managed HSE metrics and the costs associated with hazard mitigation. Monitored HSE performance through evaluations of KPI’s and leading and lagging indicators. Reviewed contracts and proposals for potential drilling contractors and provided recommendation as to their qualifications. Certified Lead Investigator- Root Cause Analysis, accountable for investigation and determination of Near Miss and Recordable incidents. Developed and implemented Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS) for Gulf of Mexico operations.

Initiated weekly teleconference meetings, with HSE professionals and senior management from Marathon Oil’s worldwide operations, to evaluate significant Good Catch, Near Miss and Recordable Incidents.

Coached and supported the organization in ensuring regulatory HSE changes were evaluated and the impact of potential changes understood.

Coordinated, developed and executed risk assessments for all operations to identify hazards and implement procedures to eliminate or mitigate those hazards for drilling and

completions. Supervised team of eight HES advisors.

Effectively oversaw multiple rig moves ensuring continuous safety and DOT regulation compliance.

Ensured contractor safety management systems were aligned with corporate safety culture, making recommendations for change when appropriate.

Responsible for determining qualifications and hiring of HSE Advisors.

Carbondale Fire Protection District – Carbondale, CO

Fire Fighter (Capt.)/EMS Director/Paramedic (1999 to 2007)

Ensured safety of personnel during fire and emergency operations. As On Call Officer responsible for being first on scene, establishing command, ordering additional resources, establishing incident command and provided situation reports for incoming units.
