Logica offers the Bank Electronic Support System (BESS) software product as a solution to a bank’s domestic and international funds transfer and communications operations. The Bank Electronic Support System (BESS) is a funds transfer and communications product that automates a bank's wireroom and payment applications. BESS minimizes manual processing of incoming and outgoing messages by accurately and securely handling transactions.

BESS integrates the functions of the wireroom and payments departments in one online system, while allowing bank operations to be centralized or decentralized, as the bank may desire. The BESS Product consists of the following features:-

• CNP (Common Network Processor) -

This runs both wireroom & payments. It monitors and controls the background functions that provide the foundation of BESS (This is actually a backend process).

• PAYMENTS (Involves credit, debits and payment instructions) -The BESS Payments product automates the paying and receiving function and performs all accounting processing and interfaces to CHIPS, Fedwire.

• WIREROOMS (Only message services between banks. No credit/debits) -

The BESS Wireroom provides the electronic receipt, processing and transmission of messages to and from the wire services using the same workstation (terminal). Wire service interfaces link BESS with international and domestic carriers such as S.W.I.F.T., CHIPS, and FED.

• INTERFACES (like HMI, HOTSCAN) - Connects BESS with other applications via MQ/TCP-IP

Expertise: Functional Testing of payment services and message tracking from the tandem server to the client server.

Responsibilities:

Undertook activities (which include test case preparation, test data preparation, test execution by loading and reverse loading data in actual production environment) from ENSCRIBE Database in Tandem Servers to SQL Database.

• Worked with Tandem Non-stop servers and execution of SWIFT mandatories.

• Was involved in extensive testing of the Wireroom part of applications and handled the responsibility of CR (Change Requests) Payments testing from Bangalore.

•Constantly involved in activities like preparation of Test metrics and WSR (Weekly Status Reports).

Symantec backup exec (Multiple clients)

Symantec Backup Exec is a small- to medium-sized business (SMB) data protection product.

Backup Exec provides virtual server backup therefore offering data intelligent compression. Symantec Backup Exec makes copies of data from virtual storage and physical storage environments for disaster recovery and is versatile enough to restore an entire server or data at the file-level.

The software performs a scheduled backup onto media inserted in a tape device. The data is stored on the media enabling us to the restore the data as and when the clients request.

Responsibilities:

●Consistent checks for all the client backups and ensuring all data is backed up.

●Creating detailed documents and manuals about the product to help trainees

●Troubleshooting backup failures and tracking the incidents.

●Liaising with Symantec to ensure hotfixes are installed on the servers to fix backup failures.

●Upgrading the backup exec, firmware version of the tape library/device, as and when required.

●Replacements of the tape device with the help of the third party vendor to fix tape drive errors.

●Restoring user data as per client requests and ensuring daily/weekly/monthly reporting is carried out.
