DXP Enterprises September 2014 – Present
Project Manager/Applications Engineer
Execute the scheduling and production/procurement for pump packages. Select and recommend rotating equipment packages. Establish a project management system that tracks resources utilize and forecast project margins. Prepared cost estimates and presented this information to customers.
Key Contributions:
Implemented project management system. Constructed a production schedule that managed production resources. Developed and standardized the use of job books on projects to increase quality and efficiency.
Mechanical Project Engineer
Product design engineered and provided technical support for the manufacture of overhung (OH2) centrifugal pumps in conformance with the American Petroleum Institute (API) 610. Review all drawing packages prior to production and monitor the production for quality issues and cost savings opportunities. Support the installation of auxiliary systems to include mechanical seal, seal support systems and instrumentation. Ensure that concurrent project at different stages of production are completed by customer requested due dates.
Key Contributions:
Redesign of stuffing box. The modification of non-functional dimensions of centrifugal pump and utilizing SolidWorks design tables the number of parts that were interchangeable increased resulting in streamlining production time by 10 percent.
Munters Corporation April 2014 – August 2014
Mechanical Engineer Intern
Designed custom industrial dehumidification ventilation units. Developed assembly instructions, reviewed bill of materials for purchasing in Solidworks. Participated in GEMBA walks and identified opportunities for waste elimination.
University of Texas at San Antonio May 2012 – May 2014
Laboratory Teaching Assistant
Mentor and Motivated student to reach their potential through student design projects. Educated undergraduates about product development and using tools such as specifications and constraints for design selection.
Research Assistant
Managed the planning, designing, and building modifications to an existing low speed wind tunnel. Prepared detailed purchase orders for project cost including procurement specifications. Designed in Solidworks and drafted engineering drawings for a complete wind tunnel design ready for manufacturing.
Key Contributions:
Predict flow conditions at steady state. Using computational fluid dynamics software (ANSYS Fluent) to predict the flow conditions in the test section of a wind tunnel. This helped reduce cost by sizing expensive components correctly.
