Objectives

Responsible for overseeing all daily operations in a 30,000 sq. ft. facility with an emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, order fulfillment, safety, and customer satisfaction. As a GDP facility, ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed is imperative to the operation.

Receiving – Verify weekly transfer truck as well as vendor PO’s. This includes quality control checks on all inbound merchandise to ensure accuracy.

Inventory – Increased over all inventory accuracy 30% by implementing and maintaining a daily cycle count program.

Order Filling - Increased productivity with training and performing time studies. Identified KPI’s, enforcing positive indicators and eliminating out negative tendencies.

Shipping – Responsible for ensuring all orders are shipped out via the correct carrier and under correct conditions i.e. shipped with ice, shipped via reefer carrier only, etc. while also attempting to get the best rate. Responsible for following up with carriers to verify proper and timely delivery.

Fleet – Cut down on driver overtime by working with customers and altering routes to eliminate wasted time.

Distribution Center Supervisor (May 2006 – November 2013)

Shipping Department – Responsible for verifying accuracy and completion of product being loaded onto trailers for 40 – 50 stores per day. Work with 3PL companies to schedule pick-ups for vendor returns, outside sales, etc. Responsible for monitoring and ensuring a standard productivity level expected of each employee.

Order Filling (pick and pack) Department – Responsible for ensuring that the designated amount of work is dispersed and completed in the most efficient manner on a daily basis. This includes determining how many employees will be needed to complete the day, how much man power will be needed in each area, and closely monitoring the overall operation. It also includes monitoring the accuracy and productivity of each employee (anywhere from 30 – 60) and addressing them when they are not in compliance.

Stock Department – Responsible for overseeing 12 – 15 forklift operators and the tasks assigned to them on a daily basis. Tasks include product put away, product replenishment, active to active moves, and pallet maintenance. Also responsible for ensuring acceptable productivity is met by each operator.

Receiving Department – Responsible for overseeing shipments coming into the D.C. This includes monitoring employees who are doing quality checks, adhering to pre-designated ti-hi’s, verifying skus, etc. Also stay in constant communication with Vendor Relations and Buying departments from the corporate office to ensure shipment accuracy.

Inventory Department – Responsible for maintaining accurate counts and inputting unit adjustments for the D.C. inventory. This is achieved by monitoring employees as they do daily cycle counts, zero counts, on hand counts, etc.

Also a member of the safety committee.

Hockey Director (August 2004 – March 2006)

Bladeworld Indoor Sports Center (1065 W Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705)

Responsible for running all aspects of the hockey program. This included finding and recruiting teams and players for multiple leagues offered at the facility. Once recruited, I had to evaluate the skill level of each individual and place them into a corresponding league based on ability. I was responsible for writing the schedule for each league, accepting and tracking payments, scheduling referees and scorekeepers, and running the day to day operations of the facility. In addition to the weekly leagues, I would often promote tournaments and special events to try and increase revenue.

Fire Fighter (August 2003 – July 2004)

Rural/Metro Fire Department (490 W Magee Rd, Tucson, AZ 85704)

I went through, and graduated from, Rural/Metro’s fire academy to become Fire Fighter I and II certified. As an on-call part time fire fighter, I responded to non-medical emergencies such as structure fires, auto accidents, wild land fires, etc. I gained a tremendous amount of experience in serving the general public and on the job training. I also learned to think and react quickly in hectic and unstable situations. Rural/Metro is a private company and I left them to pursue a career with the city’s fire department.
