Developed and revised power plant maintenance manuals guided by commercial industry standards (ATA-100) using FrameMaker. Identified and selected components for customer spare parts inventory pool. Gathered data by researching engineering drawings and specifications, as well as interviewing engineers. Edited and proofread technical documents, and coached junior writers on ways to improve their documentation.

1998-1999 Technical Writer, Pelco

Developed installation, operation and maintenance manuals for closed-circuit television systems used for security and surveillance purposes using Microsoft Word. Developed specification sheets and provided technical data for marketing communications. Gathered data by researching engineering drawings and specifications, as well as interviewing engineers and technicians. Edited and proofread technical documents.

Served as an Aviation Maintenance Administrationman. Developed and wrote policies and procedures for the operation of an aircraft maintenance department. Performed many logistical duties such as data analyst, maintenance management advisor, career counselor, and recruiter. Operated a technical publications library, maintained aircraft logbooks and records, evaluated raw technical data and generated plans and reports, reviewed incoming and generated outgoing correspondence, performed as production control clerk and supervisor, air operations supervisor, administrative supervisor, security watchstander and officer-of-the-day. Controlled and monitored classified security data, maintained budgets, trained personnel. Operated anti-submarine warfare sensor equipment as an aircrewman in patrol-type aircraft. Began career as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate. Served as Quality Control Master Inspector. Performed troubleshooting and repair of electrical, instrument, and automatic flight control systems on both fixed- and rotary-winged aircraft. Performed preventative maintenance inspections and incorporation of configuration changes, provided on-the-job training and supervision of subordinates, and served as quality control inspector. Held DoD Secret clearance.
