* I was in charge every shift I worked. Whether it was opening or closing, I was responsible for knowing how to do everything to procedure, and in a timely fashion. I was also in charge of 4-12 people at a time. I coordinated them on what to do, and most only spoke Spanish. I do not speak Spanish. I handled all the money, did inventory, and ran every position on the line, while also ensuring customer service, on my shift, was at its best. I also trained several people.

Started off as a temp, in a highly competitive job and was hired on and training for them within two months, and I also did training in Tampa. I had to learn two different scripts and 34 rebuttals, on sales, for setting appointments for VA Mortgages. I made the Top Ten in sales half a dozen times, received a couple awards, and was successful in meeting the corporation’s monthly sales requirements, and then some.

Here I worked the very fast paced morning/lunch shift. This was very hard work, and was simple turn and burn. We were in charge of cleaning and stocking our stations, along with filling and re-filling dressings and condiments; such as coffee, milk, teas and juices. I believe it is important to say here, that my last year I worked there, I was pregnant, and was still one of the top earners.

It was an honor to provide an elegant, upscale dining experience, at this very small and eclectic restaurant. The restraint featured a Jazz piano bar, a daily changing menu, according to the regional seafood, and over 20 homemade desserts. There was a wine spectator award and I have performed many wine dinners. Every plate was delicately handmade, as this was not a high volume place, but rather a reservation only, with minimal seating.

I was the bar manager in charge of inventory, ordering, scheduling, organizing, and cleaning, while tending a fast paced, long bar, as well as the service bar, in a high volume resort/tourist area. Owner Frank Gajar of Port O’ call & Gaslight Saloon placed me at George’s Junction, as soon as I turned 21, due to my success as his top waitress at Port O’ Call.

I started off busing tables, at a very young age and worked my way up, fast, to running the largest and busiest section, in a two dining room upscale restaurant, while still having a comfortable atmosphere. While working there, I was also the server chosen to serve the musical acts that performed in the gaslight Saloon. I have had the honor of waiting on Leon Russell, Buddy Miles, The Jerry Garcia Band, The Wailers, Eek-A-Mouse, and Yellowman, to name a few!
