Worked as a software development intern in a large US-based company. Worked within a team that was based in both the US and Ireland to develop software and features and then to test and debug these features. Developed in C/Javascript using the Agile Methodology. Spent a period of time analysing 2 JavaScript frameworks in terms of performance, ease of development and debugging. I had to prepare a 1 hour presentation and working demonstrations to Senior managers within EMC.

Volunteer Work

Current

Working on my first large Android application based on a fitness program. This app will have instructions for various exercises and will track workouts. It will also have settings for intensity/time based on fitness level. Creating a financial analysis application using the Yahoo Finance Rest API in Python. It calculates the DCF ( Discounted Cash Flow ) using the data. It runs on a cron job once a day and exports the data to a .CSV file. I plan to make it publicly available on my website once it is fully completed. Previous

Published 2 apps to the Google App Store while learning Android Development. I did this to get first hand understand of packaging/maintaining/publishing.

Maintain my website w ww.EoinDineen.com using frameworks such as Twitter BootStrap & HTML5.

Created a CMS ( content management system ) with report as a group project. Was assigned the role of Project Manager/Programmer. Created an Arduino hardware project with report. The game was a “3D Noughts and Crosses” using infrared remote controllers. Scored 95% for both the hardware/software implementation and report. Peer Support Leader: Peer support is assisting first years throughout the year and helping to make their life at University successful. Volunteered in Vietnam ( Ho Chi Minh City ): Worked with Volunteers for Peace Vietnam ( VPV ) which involved working with disadvantaged children at both hospitals and orphanages.

General volunteering: I also volunteer my time for groups inside and outside college which massively improved my skills in dealing with people as listening and understanding problems are key traits to have. ㅡ
