June 1981 Programmer/Analyst – McRae’s Inc.; Jackson, MS 39209

June 1989 Responsible for maintain existing systems. Helped in system conversation

from NCR to IBM. Worked as part of a project team, to implement a Sales

and Stock Projection system. This system provided inventory, sales, and

turnover information for the Merchandising area, in helping evaluate sales

performance to inventory levels. Also worked with accounts receivables,

vendor analysis and fashion reporting application areas.

Wrote an in-house, online documentation system to help fellow programmers

isolate data files, programs and jobs. Wrote and implemented a MANTIS

online application for the president of McRae’s, to provide condensed and

consolidated report information for Merchandise Analysis. This system

eventually became available for the entire company’s use.

Supervised three programmers on this project.

WORK EXPERIENCE

June 1989 Programmer/Analyst – Bill’s Dollar Store; Jackson MS

January 1991 Learned DOS JCL. Self-taught SQL programming language. Designed

and implemented a Trailer Tracking System (TTS) which allowed the

warehouse in Columbia, MS to follow all trucks (owned/unowned) as

incoming or outgoing. This provided the company with a real-time (online)

warehouse trailer system which proved dock personnel with truck lane

information, picking lists, break pack handling and merchandise tracking.

Supervised four programmers on this project.

January 1991 Programmer/Analyst – McRae’s, Inc.; Jackson MS

December 1997 Worked with several company areas on application enhancements.

Merchandising - Designed and implemented a system which allows sales

associates to earn bonus monies based on their contribution to their

selling area. This system was called the Team Incentive Plus (TIP)

program. Maintained: Sales and Stock Projection (SSP) system,

Merchandise Planning System (MPS) and Advertising.

Distribution Center - Designed and implemented a vendor class system

for handling staging of merchandise when it is received on the docks from

vendors. This was part of the Purchase Order Management system.

Internal Auditing – Designed a Merchandise Bonus Report, which helped in

determining merchandise bonus information for each division.

Sales Audit – Created reports for audit procedures in handling American

Express transactions in McRae’s Point of Sale (POS) system. This

Involved setting up tests with American Express personnel in Phoenix, AZ.

These tests sent data across telephones to the Arizona sites, for

verification of receipt of this data, proper formatting of the data sent, and

proper credit to McRae’s. These tests involved extensive communication

with American Express before the final implementation could occur.

Credit - Worked with team in implementing VISION/21 software for

maintaining customer accounts. Worked on special assignments to

extract information from VISION/21 files, for various reports for credit

credit bureaus and billed media functions. Maintained Direct mail

application.

Installed and maintained GROUP1 software packages for standardization

of addresses, for accurate mailings, based on a national zip code

database. This standardization provided savings for the company on all

mailings.

Fur Services – Designed and maintained process for documenting fur

inventory, repair accounting and yearly customer storage renewals.

Also, assured proper usage of the VISION/21 files when sending fur

sales transactions to Sales Audit.

Re-organization of the company after Proffitt’s acquired McRae’s.

November 1998 Y2K Test Administrator -- Proffitt’s, Inc.; Jackson MS

December 1999 Responsible for carrying out liaison functions between Proffitt’s and IBM

consultants. This included organizing, preparing test proposals, setting

meetings, and preparing data for offsite evaluations. Primary objective

was to re-install Y2K compliant applications -- company-wide -- to

production. After installation of Y2K compliance, continued to monitor

applications for performance issues along with dual responsibilities as Senior

programmer/analyst.

August 2004 Credit – Maintained production applications for VISION/21 and direct mailings.

Installed and maintained OLA credit bureau scoring for customers.

Performed installation of new OLA versions and patches. Extensive

testing and verification of data transmissions with all three credit

bureaus.

August 2004 IT Logistics – Maintaining production applications for the DART system.

Present Responsible for: Reverse Logistics (RLS), Return-to-vendor (RTV),

Vendor Compliance system (VCS), and Transfers.

Maintaining business practices on item pricing (cost, retail, markup)

Item movement between operating companies.

2010 Re-designed and programmed a new mainframe application for store RF

transfers which were driven by store servers. This included preparing

new system documentation, user documentation, and test documents.

2014 Modified Transfer application to track items per carton for OMNI- .

CHANNEL inventory tracking for mainframe and RF processing,

Organizing and directing IT / user meetings on a fixed weekly schedule.

Supervised one programmer on this project.
