My name is Michelle Luyimbazi, and I’m applying for the Marketing & Communications position with Alberta Roadshows.
I possess excellent writing and speaking skills that I have gained throughout my communications degree, in addition to editing and multimedia skills. I am proficient at dealing with computers and web content and have worked extensively with the WordPress CSS. In addition, I’m experienced at using search engines/databases, the Adobe Suite applications (InDesign CS6, Photoshop CS6, Premiere Pro), Google applications, MailChimp, CreateSend, in addition to the full Microsoft Office suite. I am knowledgeable in using social media platforms as a marketing tool and have extensive public speaking experience.
Over the last three years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow in my communications and marketing skills, through various public speaking, media interviews, event planning, web content/social media management, and professional writing roles that I have been assigned. I'm a member of the IABC (International Association of Business Communicators) and CPRS (Canadian Public Relations Society). I volunteer for CPRS Edmonton, putting together their monthly newsletter and bi-weekly job postings. I use both MailChimp and CreateSend to accomplish these tasks. In addition, I also publish the monthly newsletter for Creative Practices Institute and assist with their marketing and communications needs. I am the one who re-did their website using a combination of WordPress and my HTML5 knowledge. I possess a Class 5 driver’s license with access to my personal vehicle.
Overall, I’m a fast learner who continually strives for excellence. I will bring enthusiasm, a positive attitude and flexibility to the position.
