Project Details: MDCO (reference data unit)

Currently working on XML feed of the vendor OCC for the option and future information loading. Write Perl script to parse and load xml data into the staging database using DBI. Developed the store procedures to update master database based on the key fields from the staging database.

Support all the loader of Fixed Assets [Rating loader (Moody’s, S&P, Fitch), Bloomberg back office loader, Bloomberg custom loader], Dividend Projects and Corp Action.

Analysis, development, testing, implementation and support of equity related vendor feeds from like Bloomberg, OCC, ISE, LSE, NASDAQ, KOSCOM, DTC,GIM, MSCI, GIM, CAPCO, S&P etc.

Sybase version upgrades, replication and other database related work like schema change, reorg of indices, inline sql to store proc conversion.

Implementation of SOX standards for all the loader written in PERL.

Other major project I was involved :

NASDAQ daily list file loader for de-listed flag.

Company: Providian Financial (Aug 1999 - Apr 2004) Designation: S/W Engineer

Duties: Develop, Enhance and maintain existing system for collection business of Providian Financial. Mainly involve design, technical documentation, coding, unit testing and production support of the collection business application like Austin logistics, Probate, Bankruptcy, Ontario, Skip Transfer, Dialer list generation.

Project: Bankruptcy Inquiry

Detail: Write java program to grab information for list of the accounts from the mainframe (Total System) and load into database. This process is time critical so we run 20-java session which mange at shell script level. I am using ISTREAM service to read the information from mainframe system. This istream services runs on Iplanet web server. Originally this application was in Sybase. We converted this application from Sybase to Oracle also.

Projects: Probate Application

Detail: Probate application is for handling & processing customer accounts with deceased (Certified/Non Certified) status. I was involved in writing detail design document, coding, unit testing and implementation. I did coding using java, oracle, Perl and shell scripts. I wrote generalize mode to do ftp, date format and compare.

Projects: Dialer List Generation

Detail: Purpose of this process is to get data from mainframe (Total System) by download and based on certain criteria prepare list of account for calling customer today. This process also ftps the dialer list to the dialer. This process is time critical because if process failed then customer service dept. will not have work. I was in part of developing and supporting these processes. The process was developed using Perl, Sybase, C and shell scripts. The process used to take time around 22 minutes once download is available from TSYS

Projects: Ontario System

Details: It is overall collection system. For this project my job was to transfer existing data from Total System to Ontario system (Data include account information, payment information, notes etc.). Create interface between Total System and Ontario for skip accounts. Setup the cache database backup scripts.

Projects: EBN (Electronic Bankruptcy Notification System

Detail: As part of the collection business Providian started to process of Bankruptcy electronically. I was part of development of that team. My major role was to redesign existing system to handle new was of incoming data. I did coding for loading of data and some reports modification. System was developed using Sybase, Perl, Shell-scripts, DB-library, Visual Basic, and Crystal Reports.

Projects: Marketing Letter Generation

Detail: As part of the collection business we give different offer to customer for the payment. For that we generate letter file. My role is write program in Perl to create letter files. It also update customer account with notation in the MAINFRAME (Total System) for the offer information what we give in letter. It is most dynamic system for generating letter. I did most of the Sybase and UNIX coding. We have Autosys jobs so that these programs run on daily basis and generate the reports. The program has capability on failure it send the page and it also send mail to agency to print the given letter file letters.

Projects: Skip Dialer Selection

Details: To contact the customer we use dialer for collecting money. For some of the call dialer return status like disconnected, NOCIRCUIT, CAN’T REACH AS DIALED. So we have to remove this bad phone account from dialer so we can improve the efficiency of dialer. I wrote program using java, Perl and shell to get the COMPLITION CODE of the dial phone and the base of the value of that code we are updating customer information. I also did program in java for report that how may account we get with the bad phone number.
