Supervisor; Operations Specialist; Database Administrator

Office of Admissions, University of Colorado, Denver Campus

Denver, Colorado; November 2007 – January 30, 2015

As a Supervisor of Student Assistants and Operations Specialist, I developed and implemented a method by which to evaluate student staff performance. Doing so enabled student staff the opportunity for merit based promotion and pay increases. As a Database Administrator, I played a key role in moving the Office of Admissions from paper dependent to a paper-free work environment. This transition from paper to paper free, was made all the more efficient by my work to create efficient database centric workflows, by which all admissions documents could quickly and efficiently be scanned, the data entered, and the documents could be stored within our database for future reference. While at the same time, cutting back physical document retention from four semesters in-house storage, and up to seven years’ offsite retention down to 6 months in house storage. This cut expenses and resources used for storage space, cut down dramatically on lost and misfiled documents, and cut down on time spent on data entry.
