Key Role & Responsibilities at HDFC Bank as Senior Manager-IT (Sept’11 to till now):

- IT infrastructure requirement analysis (SPOC-Project Delivery), Architecture Solution & Capacity Planning, Third Party Vendor Management for infrastructure support, Project Management & Delivery.

- Good overall understanding of IT infrastructure design, IT operations, Data center maintenance, Vendor co-ordination, Voice & Data Network setups, Application development and End User computing areas in order to review and assist in the preparation of recovery procedures in these areas.

Project-1: Consolidation of AIX Servers in Data Center (Oct’11 to July’12) Nominated for Asian Banker Technology Implementation Awards 2012

Description: Bank is having 300+ P5 series of IBM- AIX servers at data center, over 147 physical boxes. As these P5 series box cannot be upgraded further also it is holding wide data center space area along with cooling/ power expenses, hence bank has taken initiative to consolidate these servers on new P7 series AIX servers. Now these 147 physical boxes consolidated on 12 P7 physical boxes using hypervisor. Work closely with IBM Lab & MTS team for formulate Design document and implementation at bank in a time scheduled manner.

Key Role & Responsibilities at HDFC Bank as Manager-IT (Aug’07 to Sept’11):

- IT infrastructure requirement analysis, Architecture Solution & Capacity Planning, High Value Project cost/BOM Preparation and Project Management & Implementation.

- Virtualization of wintel servers through VMware (Architecture solution, Design, implementation & Support).

- Expertise knowledge of Software Licensing for Microsoft Sw family, IBM Sw family, Oracle Sw family, Symantec Veritas NetBackup, CA monitoring/automation (TNG, DSM, Autosys) etc as per compliance policy of Bank.

- New branch roll out across pan india, Managing Network connectivity via MPLS/LL connections, Coordinating for upgrading bandwidth of Branches as per project requirements.

Project-1: Managed Print Services (Jan'10 to Jun '11)

Description; Bank is having 3000+ print devices for daily printing/scanning/fax etc. their AMC support and management is becoming challenge as per bank across india branches. Hence bank has adopted outsourcing model for these works and with an agreement with xerox india moved out all their existing print/scan/fax devices and xerox is supplied their machines in bank environment with additional features for coping printing/scanning etc. to save the bank cost. Project involvement is with Xerox to define SLA agreements and Data Center infrastructure setup.

Project-2: Virtualization of Wintel servers (Sept’08 to Dec’09)

Description: Bank DC is having around 2000+ wintel servers and by rolling out new branches these number is growing drastically hence bank has taken initiative to move existing wintel servers over Virtual server instances by using VMware. As on date new branches are rolling out on virtual servers along with application servers. As on date bank is having 1500 Virtual instances running on 80 physical boxes.

Role & Responsibilities – Involved in finacle roll out in branches, coordination with third party vendors for establishing Network back bone and IT infrastructure for new core banking branches. Coordinated for data preparation in branches for migrating legacy system to new CBS solution which includes training to prepare data as per required format, involve in developing Data Extraction & Correction tools from legacy system, Data uploading in Finacle server through SQl * loader.
