OBJECTIVE
I began my career path in 1989 as a maintenance technician at a large furniture manufacturing facility. As a maintenance technician I was responsible for machinery repairs, fabrication, installation and construction as well as plant fire and security systems and many areas of OSHA compliance. The facility closed in 2003 after which I returned to school and obtained a certification as a Nationally Registered Paramedic. I spent the next five years working as paramedic for an urban EMS system before taking a position as an offshore medic/Health Safety and Environmental Technician in the oil and gas industry. I left this position in order to expand my responsibilities and experience and since 2012 I have been the Health Safety and Environmental Advisor/ Remote Medical Provider aboard a seismic survey vessel.
As a result of my varied working experience I am very familiar with construction, machining, and production processes and the hazards and injuries related to them. It is my goal to increase the safety culture and hazard awareness in those around me. My personal challenge is to help create and maintain a working environment with the goal of zero incidents, zero accidents, and zero injuries. I view my co-workers as my 'family' and take a great deal of pleasure in conducting training and personal interaction to ensure that my 'family' is educated and equipped to conduct their business in a safe, productive, and efficient manner. It is my personal challenge to inspire others to be committed and to take ownership of their own safety and productivity.
