PROJECT

Project Title: “power factor correction of machine lab (CIT)”

Objective: To maintain the power factor to 0.98 by minimizing the losses

Functionality of the project: The electrical machines having coils are highly inductive in nature by which current lags voltage so the cosØ will be less which increases the demand of magnetizing component( KVA) and current(I R LOSS). So by improving the cosØ 1 we can minimize the KVA component and I R LOSS by which the system voltage will be improved. The capacitor banks feed leading current which compensate the lagging current and the cosØ will be improved.
