Lead Wireless Solutions Engineer, Project Management

Project Management: 800/1900MHz Inter-System Soft-Handoff Project for 29 Sprint Markets. 9 RNC deployment project for Sprint’s key markets. 3G Core Mobile Packet Switch and 5 RNCs deployment project for the Houston market. Data capacity enhancement project for 51 Base Station Controller nodes. IP backhaul for Network Vision Project.

Migration management for Sprint’s 65MHz Project that involved the migration of radios to higher capacity LTE Remote Radio Units for 11 700 sites across Sprint’s entire network.

Led a team of engineers in resolving IT networking issues between Ericsson’s routers and Sprint’s Data Network. Engaged Sprint’s Data Engineering and Design teams in resolving Firewall policy rules for the successful deployment of their OA&M/OSS architecture.

Initiated Close out Desk process for Sprint, which is a quality improvement process to ensure all LTE/EPC/CDMA nodes are free of alarms for sign-off to customers.

Devised Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Metrics on the success of Tower Work Radio migration. Provided inputs for tool development and report generation. Provided root cause failure analysis to key primes for process improvement and quality initiatives. Escalated performance issues & service disruption on Cell Sites up to VP level.

Lead Wireless Network Engineer (2006 – 2009)

Lead Network Engineering Account prime; provided n/w engineering solutions to Bell Mobility’s CDMA network coast to coast; this included 14 MSC’s and 15 BSC.

Pre- and Post-sales engineering for Wireless Core and Access products. Provided ongoing support to customers, sales account and marketing teams - in access of 150 quotes/yr.

Project managed and engineered hardware and software products to ensure Bell Mobility’s traffic projections and capacity requirements were met. (approx. 200 RFQs/yr.)

Presented various network solutions and proposals to customer primes face to face e.g. CDMA Packet and Access network solutions resulted in approx. 250 proposals /yr.

Introduced new product solutions and features into customers network e.g. EVDO high capacity RNC9K & CCMP6K. Enhanced Base Station Controller, CDMA Packet Core solutions.

Defined and designed the creation of BTS (Base Station Transceiver) models which resulted in a simplified ordering process and reduced deployment time by 50%.

Provided CDMA product and engineering provisioning training to Nortel’s Mexican team.
