$25M manufacturer of marine harnesses and electronic systems.

Plant Controller

Designed and implemented a continuous process to enter plant wide standard cost system including routings, labor and overheads.

Revamped the financial statements with the above and other changes that allowed the owners to manage their business as a manufacturing operation. Added a monthly forecast.

Assumed responsibilities for the quoting function including designing the software and training a specialist.

Created a process to liquidate inventory that cannot be sold through conventional means. Average recovery rates were in the range of $0.60 to $0.70 on the dollar.

Worked closely with our ERP consultants as the go to person to address manufacturing issues in the use of the software.

Division & Plant Controller

Perform as a business analyst to the management team to identify opportunities of a financial nature that are simplified to drive success of the business units with key management reports.

Directs the team responsible for the preparation of financial statements from source documents.

Managed the financial services function.

-Through a team effort, standards were set, changes were made and accomplishments met that ultimately led to the selection of Angola as the location for the divisional financial service center.

-Managed the HR staff for the Angola facility.

-Led a small team that reduced over 90 days outstanding A/R from $2.0M to less than $300K in 7 months.

-Implemented a robust cost accounting system that addressed the division’s cost accounting needs.

-Organized with the participants to bring the closing process to 4 days.

-Successfully hired and directed a team that included setting up a shared service center to serve 4 GL’s, A/P, A/R, collections, payroll and divisional functions. This included overseeing an internal office expansion with the total project savings of over $300,000 annually.

-Participated in a division wide project to rediscover the ERP system and its capabilities resulting in more efficient use and discovering best practices. Documentation was essential to the success.

CARLISLE INDUSTRIAL BRAKE & FRICTION, Bloomington, IN 2006-2011

-Spearheaded a successful project to go to a cardless physical inventory with savings of over $20,000.

-Partnered with our A/P team to increase our DPO days through an innovative banking partnership.

-Worked with management and developed a system to identify obsolete/slow moving inventory allowing us to dispose what we don’t need and focus on items that may become obsolete.

-Integral member of team that integrated an acquisition into the financial/ERP systems on a plant and divisional level.

-Qualified Carlisle as a Bureau of Economic Zone participant with an annual property tax savings of $40,000 per year.

-Assisted lean operating system personnel with analysis and metrics for the measurement of successful Kaizen projects. Participated in four Kaizen events.
