Visited the site to discuss and finalize major design scope work with clients: the existing and new design utility facilities, primarily included steam boilers, fuel gas, cooling water supply, instrument and utility air, power supply, tank farms, feed and production transportation plan, waste water treatment plan, rainstorm discharge plan, civil detail survey plan, flare system design plan, plot plan, long term deliverable equipment procurement plan, fire water supply plan, emergency fire fighter plan, construction fabrication plan and surrounding conditions.
Prepared design guidelines, and technical agreement, man power plan, critical milestone, reviewed process description, shutdown keys, and process control narratives, attended plant location selection and plot plan review meeting.
Determined design capacity, overall material balances, and primary production plan based on the feed stock available flow rate and physical properties.

Selected proper materials for top section of main fractionator, designed chemical injection facility to OVHD cooling system to mitigate H2S, CO2 corrosions to extend the equipment lifetime;

Determined the production temperature cut ranges based on the crude feed lab test physical properties and TBP points.
Performed process simulation of crude and vacuum by Hysys.
Optimized the preheat trains by pinch analysis, and finalized preheat train network.
Designed two-stage electric desalters to remove the salts and suspended solids.
Developed PFDs, P&IDs, H&Ms, designed OVHD coolers system, vacuum tower steam injectors system.
Designed the chemical injection ammonia system and corrosion inhibitor system.
Conducted tray hydraulics calculation for crude and vacuum towers, designed internal parts, trays, valves lay-out, and down comer dimension, tray pace, man way requirement, structured packing, distributors, and chimney trays, etc.
