Completed an eleven week Mechanical Engineering internship within the Steel Fabrication and Assembly division of the shipyard. Cooperated with other engineering interns and professionals on several facility manufacturing and ef ciency projects. Applied root cause analysis to a recurring facility failure. Recommended solution that was ultimately successfully implemented. Summer 2014
Completed an additional twelve-week Mechanical Engineering internship within the Facilities Operations division of the shipyard. Surveyed multiple uid pipeline and pumping systems in order to update/correct features (e.g. meters, pipe dimensions, valve types) on the shipyard’s GIS mapping system.
Applied root cause analysis to a malfunctioning steam-condensate return pumping system. Presented probable causes of the system failure and offered solutions to both restore functionality as well as to avoid recurring failures.
