WORK EXPERIENCE
Software Engineer
More Good Foundation - May 2015 to Present
Working as a Software engineer I am one of two back end engineers for our websites and Identity Provision Server. The Identity Provision
server runs an opends compatible ldap backend and is openID compliant. I have built plugins using openID Connect in php as well as rounded out other modules for servers using java and jython. I also assist in the front end development of roughly 500 minor sites run by the foundation. I am also responsible for health and maintenance of the web servers hosting these websites. Technical Support
Redrock IT - May 2014 to December 2014
I was Tech Support and JR Systems Admin for a small IT firm. We managed the network and systems for roughly 100 client companies. My
duties revolved around maintaining backups, configuring, setting up, troubleshooting and maintaining Windows AD servers, front line phone and on-site help desk support for end users, and whatever else clients needed. I was given many opportunities to suggest solutions for challenges and present them to my seniors and then to carry out any confirmed action plans. I troubleshooted networks, routers, and hardware issues as needs arose. I was under limited supervision but still had expectations of staying on task and professional.
Technical Support
Bluehost - February 2013 to November 2013
As a Level 1 agent I familiarized myself with common server troubleshooting and working with end users to find common problems with installed web software. I quickly was promoted to a Level 2 agent with technical supervisor responsibilities. This included learning things quickly and well in order to teach and troubleshoot beyond Level 1 abilities. Within six months of the start of my employment as a level 1 I was
promoted to a Level 3 engineer which has junior system administration responsibilities including root access on web servers to diagnose
performance, fully troubleshoot user accounts, and to make system admins aware of any further issues. This position is well regarded within the company and difficult to attain. Computing Specialist
BYU Continuing Education - July 2012 to February 2013 Part of a small help desk environment with limited supervision geared towards giving employee file server access rights and maintaining
department's hardware and software and Microsoft Exchange email accounts. Answered phones, troubleshooted other employees' difficulties,
managed Active Directory accounts and access, Remotely installed software and was dispatched for local troubleshooting.
