Hired by the owner of a well established commercial printing company to provide leadership and focused direction to the Sales and Marketing Departments and establish a New Business Development strategy.
Eliminated non-performing sales positions, enhanced responsibilities of remaining staff, and established clearly defined, aggressive but attainable sales goals. Result: Increased departmental morale, improved productivity and raised individual reps earning potential.
Reduced redundant marketing positions and delegated larger decision making authority and accountability to remaining managers. Introduced new marketing programs to include a combination of new digital imaging products, traditional print technologies and internet based solutions. Result: Broadened base of offerings which has resulted in a 45% average increase in responses to advertising collateral.
Replaced existing website with new interactive site that included video and social media connectivity. Result: Increased website visits and improved sales of high value added printing, marketing, converting, and packaging products.
Added over $1MM in new packaging product sales for GE and negotiated a three year supply agreement for those items. Result: Justified acquisition of new automated packaging line to reduce production costs and improve JIT inventory turns.

Reorganized and set new sales objectives, reestablished customer and employee confidence and initiated programs to regain lost market share. Result: Halted the three year decline in sales volume.

Responsible for complete Financial/P&L performance to out of state ownership for the plant’s commercial printing, tag, label, wallcovering, book covering and office products industries. Directed the company to an unprecedented 285% sales growth from a $7MM to $20MM during tenure as General Manager.
Developed innovative strategy to save $4MM worth of $7MM business gained through acquisition of largest competitor. Initiated a factory worker exchange program with our largest customer to root out the cause of intermittent production problems. Result: Reduced customer complaints 90% and retained $4MM product line within 120 days of project completion.
Proposed, justified and obtained approval for the largest capital investment in company history. Negotiated labor contract agreements and state tax abatements to support the investment. Designed, engineered and managed installation of the $8MM custom coating equipment. Result: Increased production capacity 600%, reduced cost per unit 25%.
Participated in Due Diligence and Managed Shutdown of acquired competitor’s plant, transfer of administration, operations, inventories and equipment to out of state facility. Result: Reduced cost of goods 20%, increased production 65% with no interruption of customer shipments.
