EXPERIENCE
Physical Security Manager, 5th Armored Brigade of Ft. Bliss, TX. Mar 2013 – Jan 2016. Serves as the Assistant Brigade Physical Security S2 NCO in a multi-component Training Support Brigade that inspects and ensures compliance to a total of 10 battalions located in five states, which advises more than 400 Regionally Aligned Forces (RAF) units throughout the western United States to include Air Force, Navy, and DOD contractors; ; coordinated active and passive security measures such as CCTV(Closed Circuit Television), lights, physical barriers to restricted areas, electronic entry control and intrusion detection systems, access control devices and systems, key control, surveillance systems, and other measures as appropriated; conducted comprehensive physical security surveys (After Action Reviews-AARs), high threat vulnerability assessments, critical analysis and inspections of facilities and equipment, materials, documents, and storage areas; prepared comprehensive reports that evaluated the adequacy of physical security practices; identified critical areas needing special protective measures; advocated practical solutions to physical security deficiencies; coordinated with Subject Matter Experts (SME)/1st Army (Division) to assess viability of physical security program; trained Brigade’s Battalion S2 sections on all aspects of physical, personnel, and operational security regulations.; scheduler of maintenance of buildings and equipment; order supplies and parts for repairs within Brigade budget restrictions; responsible for work direction of skilled vendors and contractors such as electricians/ plumbers; provides research and make recommendations to reduce expenses; and 24/7 availability due to the role of security manager.
Observer/ Controller/ Trainer (OCT)/ Security Manager, 5th AR BDE of Ft. Bliss, TX. Aug 2007 – Mar 2013. Conduct driver’s training for over 85,000 Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, Navy, Air Force, and augmenters for deployment. Prepare comprehensive after action reports in order to identify, evaluate, and address unit strengths and weaknesses and develop strategies to overcome operational deficiencies. Act as primary instructor (Subject Matter Expert- SME) and assist in the development of training plans.
