4/2015 to present Premise Health Beaumont, Texas
Occupational health RN at local refinery clinic. Responsible for illness and injury case management for refinery associates. Assist with annual physical exams and OSHA required audiometry, pulmonary function screenings. Also conduct respirator and earplug fit testing and training for associates. Provide first aid and nursing care per physician-approved protocols. Administer vaccines as indicated.
6/2011 to 3/2015 Baptist Hospital Beaumont, Texas
Serving as RN-Charge in Day Surgery Unit with an approximate daily census of 35 patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatrics. Assigned to work with patients, physicians and other healthcare providers to prepare patients emotionally, physically and psychologically for medical procedures. Held certifications in BLS, ACLS and PALS. Represent the Surgery Department on the Nursing Informatics Council and was actively involved in the development of computerized documentation development. Also served on the Nursing/Pharmacy Council where I was active in communicating concerns of nursing and was successful in resolving multiple issues. Assisted with discharge planning and resolution of social service issues with emergency department clientele as needed.

Functioned as a staff nurse and relief charge nurse in the pediatric and pediatric intensive care units. Was PALS and ENPC trained and was an ENPC Instructor. Served also as Magnet Champion for the department and worked diligently within this committee to secure Magnet status. Also served as Chair of the Staffing Committee for the unit.

Functioned in an administrative capacity for a children’s ministry serving approximately 150 children. Responsible for budgeting, volunteer training and recruitment, and program development. Volunteered in this capacity for several years but was led to serve on staff as the program grew beyond what my volunteer schedule would allow.
