Objective:

Seeking a position in Telecommunications that utilizes my acquired skills and experience from 30 years with AT&T, and 5 years as an Electronics Technician in the United States Navy.

Background:

I joined the U.S Navy in 1976 at age 17. After serving 5 years I received an honorable discharge. My first job was with AT&T beginning in 1982. After 32 years of employment with AT&T, I opted to exercise my early retirement eligibility.

Experience Summary:

As a Wiring Tech with CyberNet Communications, installed DSL and voice services, including VOIP. Installed VDSLAM, routers and switches for small to medium sized customers in the Los Angeles area.

At Comnet I worked as a Cable Tech working primarily on Whole Foods network update project. I Pulled in Cat6 drops for Wireless Access Points throughout store. Installed wireless access points and IDF and MDF cabinets. Terminated and tested jacks. Worked on 12 stores both lead and crew.

As a Systems Technician at AT&T, I performed installation and maintenance of Special Services circuits including DID’s, Basic Rate and Primary Rate ISDN, ADN circuits, DS0 analog circuits, DS1 and DS3 circuits, Optical and Ethernet services, including OC3, OC12, OC48, OPT-E-MAN, and GigaMAN.

Familiar with Ciena, Ciena EMUX, Nortel, and Cisco ONS 15454 equipment.

Additionally, I was responsible for maintaining the supply inventory (PICS system) for all the equipment needed for the provisioning and maintenance of all services in my geographic area. Worked primarily in office buildings in Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena. Installed and cabled equipment, ran cross connects at MPOE and floor terminals, extended T1 and DS3 coax and pulled fiber drops. Installed landline services to cell sites. Familiar with Outside plant, pole climbing, GO95 clearance requirements.

AT&T Systems Technician:

From 1984 to 1989, I was assigned as primary Specials Services technician for NBC Studios, Disney Studios and The Burbank Studios (Warner Bros and Columbia Pictures).

From 1998 to 2000, I was assigned to JPL in La Canada, CA. Duties included installing telephone service in addition to Special Services circuits. In all new or refurbished workspaces, I placed new Cat5 cabling.

As an Electronics Technician onboard the USS Enterprise, I was responsible for the maintenance of all shipboard UHF transceivers and associated equipment as the Work Center Supervisor.
