PROJECT DETAIL

TITLE: IMPLEMENTATION IN DESIGN OF PATTERN EQUIPMENT OF FLYWHEEL

DESCRIPTION:

The project is aimed at improving the existing design of pattern equipment of flywheel. The project was carried out at Autokast private limited, a Government of Kerala undertaking company. Currently the company follows standard technique in which only one casting is produced from each mold. In our newly proposed design, the pattern equipment is reconstructed such that the mold can house two cavities thereby enabling the manufacturer to produce two units of the product in one mold. The improvement is mainly achieved by putting in place a new design, inclusion of an extra core and altering the route and design of the gating system.
