Pleasant Grove High School, Elk Grove, Ca 2006-2010
Volunteer/Social Experience
Pleasant Grove High School - Elk Grove, CA:
-Basketball tournament for the adjoining middle schools of every high school in the district (Summer 2008)
Watch the side and main entrances to the tournament in order to ensure that everyone attending had purchased a ticket or was involved in the tournament

Other – Sacramento, CA:
-Discovery Museum Science and Space Center (Fall 2009)
Tasked with cleaning up debris from the outside of the center as well as cleaning the entrance in accordance with new renovations to the center that were to follow
UC Solar Research Symposium – San Francisco, CA:
-California Public Utilities Commission Auditorium (Fall 2015)
Our Capstone team was invited to participate in the symposium by presenting the poster of the previous team whose project we are continuing
Presented the poster between breaks from the main presentation to fellow attendees who had questions about our solar toilet project
Poster was presented in order to garner interest in the work of UC Merced and UC Solar Labs and to possibly receive grants for future work done at each
Professional Experience
As of right now I have no business experience but am currently looking to gain some. As a mechanical engineering major, it would be necessary to gain some managerial skills along the way, as well as the necessary skills required to work with other individuals on an equal basis. As engineers work to both create and improve upon existing structures, all of these skills are essential to becoming a paid and licensed engineer. Listed below are examples of project experience that I have gleaned while at the University of California at Merced.
Naturalist App, Fall Semester 2015
-Engineering Service Learning course designed to give students an idea of what it is like to work as an engineer with deadlines and team members
Part of a team tasked with developing a phone app for naturalists and hikers
Identifies and describes local flora and fauna of Merced vernal pools for users
Team leader of sub-group assigned to gather information about plants
Made use of design notebooks turned in at the end of the semester
Capstone Senior Project, Fall Semester 2015
-Project designed to give students a more design-oriented approach to working as an engineer and meeting deadlines for certain criteria
Part of the second team to work on the internal portion of a solar toilet
For use in National Parks and backwoods areas across United States
Tasked with increasing temperature of internal system through solar heat
Worked in conjunction with UC Solar Labs near Atwater
Collected data for final presentation and poster presentation
Special Skills
I am highly skilled in the use of computers, and am very tech savvy all around. After learning to better my analytic and personal skills via the courses that I have taken in college, I am well versed in typing up reports, analyzing data sets, and meeting deadlines. I possess excellent written and verbal skills and can adapt to any situation or group of people; because of this I am a great team player and am also good at conflict mediation/resolution and can listen to or accept opinions or ideas of others even if they differ from my own. I am adept at or accustomed to the following computer applications: Microsoft Office, CAD, Matlab, C++, R, and Fortran.
