Modification and Application of Parametric Continuation Method to Variety of Nonlinear Boundary Value Problems

• The study was to introduce a new approach of continuation by parameter to variety nonlinear boundary value problems in different fields of engineering and to investigate the applicability of this method as a universal approach.

• Compared the proposed method with other potential methods and analyzed the advantages of this new approach.

• The proposed method provided a really high rate of convergence by systematically minimizing the residuals.

PROJECTS

Finite element analysis of conformal contact bearing Rochester Institute of Technology 2015

• Analyzed the dry contact behavior of the bearing system using ANSYS Mechanical APDL.

• Finite element analysis provided the insights about change in pressure distribution in between journal and sleeve with other variables, which was then compared from a published paper.

Heat Transfer in Computer Systems Rochester Institute of Technology 2015

• Mathematical model was created for examining i7-3970x computer chip system to ensure that the plastic housing enclosing the chip does not melt due to the heat generation of the computer chip; thermal analysis was performed using COMSOL Multiphysics software.

• Recommendation for a new housing material for chip system was made based on its melting resistance and cost efficiency.

Numerical Simulation of a Vehicle Suspension system Rochester Institute of Technology 2015

• Developed four-wheel vehicle suspension model which accounts for realistic suspension geometry, spring and damper coefficients, and unsprung mass.

• Model was used to investigate effect of nonlinear springs using the numerical simulation of model with MATLAB Simulink.

CFD Analysis of a NACA 0012 Airfoil Rochester Institute of Technology 2014

• Obtained the variation in the drag and lift coefficients with respect to angle of attack of air on the airfoil.

• Studied characteristic features of the flow around a finite wing using ANSYS Fluent.

Vibrational Analysis of an Earthquake Rochester Institute of Technology 2014

• Examined the vibratory traits of building undergoing oscillatory displacements by earthquake with harmonic forcing function.

• Investigated the ground displacement and acceleration over time for a 1-degree-of-freedom building model.

• Results were analyzed with respect to existing data concerning the effects of earthquakes on buildings.
