PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Graduate Research Assistant - Stirling Engine: Jan’ 15 – Dec’ 15 University of North Texas - Denton, TX
• Assisted Dr. Phillip R Foster, Professor at the University of North Texas in developing Stirling engine and evaluating its performance.
• Developed theoretical design (Pro E) of hot cross over tube and base of Stirling engine for better performance.
• Manufactured the above parts on CNC machine using codes generated in Mastercam.
• Assembled these parts to the existing model of engine and analyzed the pressure and temperature of the system
(transducers) using LabView.
• Future work includes the optimization of engine design to improve the engine performance. Graduate Teaching Assistant:
University of North Texas – Denton, TX Jan’ 15 – Dec’ 15 Machining Principles and Process – Fall 2015:
• Assisted students in setting up tools and work pieces to the machine.
• Assisted students in understanding the parameters involved in manufacturing process.
• Graded completed projects of the students
• Developed new material for Machining principles and process course with the professor. Mastercam – Spring 2015
• Helped students in understanding Mastercam software, which is NC Programming Software for 2-axis, 3-axis mill, lathe, and drill machining operations.
• Trained and helped a class of 40 undergraduate mechanical students in learning and finishing their assignments on time.
Experimental Thermal Sciences – Spring 2015
• Aided undergraduate students to conduct experiments like building thermocouples and measuring temperatures of standards, measuring pressure, heating/cooling loads, heat exchangers, Labview etc.
• Graded lab assignments and clarified issues for students. Engineering Intern:
Tata Motors, Jamshedpur Division India May’ 13 – Aug’ 13
• Assisted with projects that have cross - functional strategic initiatives within the manufacturing plant.
• Investigated the use of proper tooling to be used by operators on the line to meet the quality, safety and efficiency requirement
• Wrote Engineering change notes for the change in the design with the engineers
• Participated and evaluated in Failure Mode Effects and Analysis (FMEA)
• Analyzed work-study data and equipment specifications to establish time and production standards PROJECTS:
Project Management for Fabrication and Testing of Rayon Carbon Phenolic Composite & Analysis of Rocket Nozzle Throat Assembly Summer 2015
• Budgeting (Work Breakdown Structure and analysis of project).
• Scheduling (Network analysis to see if there is any possibility of delay in the project deadline).
• Risk management & Total Quality Management principles were applied to the project. Design of Wind Farm at McKinney, Texas Spring 2015
• Identified a site that fulfills the requirement for constructing the wind farm.
• SAM (System Advisory Model) analysis is done for the performance and cost analysis for the wind farm.
• Environmental impacts on McKinney area due to the wind farm. Design and Development of Skate-lite Fall 2014
• Skate-lite is next version of the skateboard. Extra accessory provided to skate-lite is light source.
• Physics behind the skate-lite is mechanical energy, applied by the person to ride the skate-lite and in turn is converted to electrical energy by using gears and a generator, which is used as the power supply for lights.
• Created a Pro-E mode by using general dimension provided with lights.
• Also created a 3-D model using a 3-D printer.
Fabrication and Testing of Rayon Carbon Phenolic Composites & Analysis of Rocket Nozzle Throat Assembly at CMR Institute of Technology, India Apr’ 14
• Using traditional fabricating method, rayon carbon phenolic composite is fabricated (pre-impregnation of resin to fiber, autoclave curing).
• Testing of these laminates samples for Tensile, ILSS, and Shear Strength using UTM, Density, resin and fiber content.
• Analysis of rocket nozzle throat assembly in ANSYS 15.0 to compare the result when throat assembly is replaced with rayon carbon phenolic composite to its high corrosive resistance and low density properties over graphite, which is traditionally used as the material.
Study, Fabricating and Testing of E-Glass Phenolic & E-Glass Epoxy composites at Composite Product Development Center (CPDC), Advanced System Laboratories (ASL), India May’ 12
• Fabricated two different composites with fiber being the same & two different resins. Resins used are Phenolic and Epoxy resins.
• Fabricating process involves pre-impregnation of resin to fiber, vacuum bagging and autoclave curing.
• Testing these laminates for destructive (Tensile, ILSS, Flexural and Density) and non-destructive tests
(Radiography testing & Ultra-Sonics testing).
• With comparing results between these two composites, conclusions drawn that the composites with epoxy resin are used commercially because of its lightweight and low manufacturing cost. LEADERSHIP ROLES:
• Active member of ISA (Indian Student Association) in University of North Texas, organized culture programs.
• Organized a technical event “Physic it Out” during National Fest Illuminate 2k13 in CMR Institute of Technology, India.
HONORS:
Top student in university examinations in the Under Graduate School and received academic excellence award during the academic year, 2012-2013.
