I strive to provide the highest level of medical care by continually seeking out new training and challenges. I am currently enrolled in a NEBOSH course so that I can become more proactive, rather than reactive, in my practice as a remote paramedic.
Experience and Employment
Safety Management Systems May 25, 2012 to current
Remote Paramedic located in the Gulf of Mexico. I provide clinical care for personnel onboard and refer cases to medical professionals on land based on severity of medical conditions and trauma. I provide all means of medical care including: i.v. placement, medication administration, suturing, cardiac monitoring, eye, ears and throat procedures conducted with the supervision of the Medical Director. I maintain the general health of the onboard crew in an Occupational Health capacity through national and local health assessments and promotional activities, and report to the OIM/Master. I maintain all medical emergency equipment onboard including: Stretchers, First Aid Supplies, Eyewash Stations, and in the Emergency Hospital.
I maintain the COSHH SYPOL database and carry out COSHH assessments on an ongoing basis. Daily testing of POT and bunkered water onboard according to safety criteria and report to the Chief Engineer. I am liaison between departments onboard regarding COSHH registration, maintenance, and assessments. I train the First Aiders and members of the medical emergency team.
Gilbert Hospital October 2009-2011
Patient Care Technician (PCT) located in Gilbert Arizona. Duties included blood draws, vital signs, procedure assistance, stocking equipment, and charting. I was a Monitor Technician that monitored a 16 bed inpatient unit. Southwest Ambulance 2005-2009
Paramedic in rural settings with extended transport times within Arizona. Duties I had included patient assessment, i.v. placement, vital signs, administering medication and fluids. ACLS and BLS protocols. Reporting to multiple personnel in the hospital setting. I organized multiple mass casualty events between several departments of EMS, Law enforcement and fire departments.
