PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE SUMMARY

Northrop Grumman, August 2010 – Present

Manager, Software Engineering

Responsible for managing R&D projects as the principal investigator and technical manager for IC-ITE compliant Big Data/Cloud systems, Enterprise Systems and Operational and Maintenance projects. Began providing consulting on C2S big data and cloud technologies to NGC and partners on ATEP-II task orders.

Managed AFRL projects, e.g., Real Time Intelligence & Situational Awareness (RTISA), automated metadata extraction using various machine learning algorithms, Foreign Audio and Video Processing (FAVOR).

Managed NASIC/AFRL’s Interoperable Discovery, Exploitation and Analysis Services(IDEAS) project.

Managed major information extraction for the ITL component of Foresight and Understanding from Scientific Exposition (FUSE) project of Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA)

Provided research, technical as well as management leadership to the R&D efforts in addition to the end to end planning, executing, controlling and the closure of the projects.

Northrop Grumman, Jan 2007 – Aug 2010

Software Engineer 5

Responsible (Lead Engineer) for providing a roadmap for the Application of semantic web technologies such as RDF, OWL, SPARQL to NASIC’s IT space in building smart-web and integrating it into the DoD/IC community semantic-web infrastructure.

Responsible for building SOA infrastructure using BEA’s WebLogc and AcquaLogic servers and demonstrating service mediation, orchestration and governance within the trusted networks. Developed the foundation and initial set of web-services services for NASIC’s SAVANT program.

Northrop Grumman, Nov 2001 – Dec 2006

Software Engineer 4

Responsible (Lead Engineer) for the architectures of the Assessed Body of Knowledge (ABOK) Manager and the Virtual Intelligence Production Retrieval (VIPRE) systems. VIPRE utilizes SOA architecture and implements an MLS solution using TSOL, Oracle OLS and TNE technologies. Also responsible for the design and development of security, ICXML, and performance management infrastructure components for the Virtual Production System (VPS), which was deployed at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC).

Implemented the security, authentication and encryption components using JNDI, LDAP and Sun’s Java Cryptographic Environment. Also developed performance monitoring and enhancement components such as connection pools (using SQLJ and JDBC standards), thread pools, concurrent programming infrastructure for J2EE components that are used by all the VPS/Knowledge Prepositioning System (KPS) components. Integrated the ICXML standards into the J2EE components using the XML, DTD, SAX, DOM, JAXP, and JAXB technologies. Designed and built Oracle Internet File System (IFS) Agents for adding intelligence to the IFS and to enable a workflow for IFS managed documents that are made accessible to clients through a variety of protocol servers, e.g., WebDAV, SMB, NIS+, HTTP, and SMTP, running on an Oracle Application server.

LexisNexis, Oct 2000 – Nov 2001

Senior Software Engineer

Designed and successfully refactored a high traffic web application through the use of a persistent layer and object cache. Also demonstrated the use of the persistent layer as a web service using SOAP/XML standards. The optimization allowed ScienceDirect division of LexisNexis to double the client-subscriptions and associated revenue. Utilized C++ and Oracle Parallel Server (with failover) technologies for the effort.

PRC, Inc., Jan 1999 – Sep 2000

Senior Computer Analyst

Designed and developed a web-based workflow management system for the analysts and managers of Measurement and Signature Intelligence (MASINT) across the geographically distributed collection agencies and mission partners. This adaptive workflow used for managing the life cycle of an intelligence-collection-requirement and was developed using Oracle Designer and Developer and deployed on a J2EE compliant Oracle Application Server. The Oracle 8i RDBMS was used as a data-store for the workflow, as well as the MASINT requirements.

PRC, Inc., Aug 1996 – Dec 1998

Senior Computer Analyst

Solely responsible for the solution architecture and integration of Optical Character Recognition (OCR), machine translation and content tagging and content summarization technologies into a unified system called Digital Library Input Processing System (DLIPS) that produces Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) tagged English documents from foreign language hardcopy documents. The DLIPS system accepts Russian, French, German, Spanish, Chinese, and other foreign language documents, in either hardcopy or electronic input, and produces SGML tagged, electronic documents in English. These documents are bulk loaded into NASIC/DX Portal that are indexed and retrieved through the Web Interface on Intelink.

University of Wisconsin and The Ohio State University, Jan 1986 – Aug 1996

Research Scientist

As a researcher on National Institute of Health (NIH)/National Science Foundation (NSF) funded research projects focused on computer modeling and simulation of molecular structure and function, was responsible for the design, planning and execution of research projects related to computer modeling and simulation in conjunction with x-ray crystallography, nuclear magnetic resonance and other spectroscopic methodologies. Some of the research has been published in the most prestigious professional journal in USA, “Science”.

The results of this work were published in peer reviewed professional scientific journals as more than two dozen research articles.
