Timothy Todd is an experienced manager and field supervisor with over 15 years of satellite experience. Starting in 1995 while working in the freezing temperatures of the Arctic as an installer to handling teams of personnel working across the Middle East in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom to working for Echostar managing the Earth Stations Operations team at an Uplink Facility and currently working as a Commercial Operations Manager with Dish Network.

Commercial Installation Manager

Responsible for a team of technicians that perform Technical Site Surveys, Installations, Design, Testing, Maintenance and troubleshooting to provide video content to various Multiple dwelling Units (MDU) and public private properties across Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Kentucky. Some of the properties that we have worked with are; colleges, prisons, apartments, condos, large offices, banks, nursing homes, rv-parks, Hospitals and golf communities.

Manages all aspects of new builds including the survey, design, ordering of material, rack integration, shipping, installation and testing. Some of the installs we have performed include; SMATV, QAM, QAM in the clear, L-Band and L-band over fiber. A brief description of equipment used on these projects are; Amplifiers, Smartbox, QAM Transcoders, modulators (fixed and agile), combiners, switches, splitters, fiber optic TX/RX, receivers.

Responsible for implementing and ensuring all processes, policies and procedures are followed.

Works with sales, buyer and outside vendors to ensure product is ordered and delivered on time to keep with our installation schedule. Works with warehouse to ensure equipment is received in and assigned to project and then shipped out to properties.

BETA testing of new products which require us to work closely with manufacturing, engineering and Quality Assurance to ensure products meet desired specifications, standards and timelines. Provide test results to management to determine if additional testing is required or if product is ready to be used in the field.

Echostar – MTJ Regional Uplink Facility 2008 2013

Earth Stations Operations Engineering Manager

Responsible for managing 6 RF engineers to maintain/repair seven 13m and two 9m satellite antennas and associated equipment used for up-linking over 800 channels to the East Coast of USA.

Responsible for managing the installation, testing and commissioning of an un-manned Earth Station located in South East United States. This involved dealing with various customers and vendors on a daily basis as well as writing daily reports to upper management on progress or issues. We successfully implemented an M&C system at this site so it can be controlled from our location in VA. Due to the site being unmanned it was necessary for various site visits each year for troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance. Some of the work that was performed during these trips was on TWT’s, gear boxes, ACU’s, LNA’s and LNA Controllers.

Successfully managed team on installing over 1200 STB’s, RF switches and cables for a Dish Network project. We successfully installed all this gear ahead of schedule as well as being the only site to have 100% connectivity.

Managed the installation, testing and commissioning of a Diverse Weather site. This site consists of four 13m antennas and associated equipment. The site will be used during inclement weather where we will transfer traffic from one site to the other to minimize any downtime to customers.

Initiated new policies and procedures for ESO department to perform duties smoothly and effectively.

Gulf Communications International 1995 2007

Operations Manager

Responsible for providing personnel to install a VOIP network in Northern Iraq. Project is set for two phases with personnel required to perform site surveys, installation, testing, operation and maintenance and training in 11 cities. Phase two will add an additional 10 cities to the system. Personnel perform Operation and Maintenance duties have been in Northern Iraq for over a year.

Coordinated personnel traveling to the Middle East, Europe, SE Asia, Central Asia and Africa in support of Deployable Ku-band Earth Terminals(DKET) systems to the Unites States Military. Personnel worked on more than 80 systems that were either new or relocated. Some of the duties performed were site surveys, installation, testing, commissioning, Operations and Maintenance, training, logistics and in country Program Management. Personnel occasionally traveled in convoys with the military transporting the systems to the site.

Coordinated personnel for Iraqi Media Network (IMN) project to restore radio, TV and print media facilities and services throughout Iraq. Provided personnel that supervised and managed all aspects of the project including hiring local and international subcontractors, logistical support for remote sites, installation, training locals that will install equipment at remote sites and operation and maintenance at the conclusion of installation.

Coordination of three year Project Management, Supervision, Administrative services and site surveys on the installation of over 400 towers in Mexico. Responsible for coordinating RFI kits for 10 teams and providing logistics support throughout Mexico to perform RFI surveys.

Coordinated and implemented personnel traveling to Mauritania to perform Program management, logistics, civil works and installation. Personnel performed field engineering on eleven site voice and video network with a 300’ TV tower at each site. We were then responsible to perform network commissioning and sell off.

Responsible for providing logistic support and coordinating personnel to perform site surveys, installation and commissioning of a 60 site network implemented in Dutch Embassies around the world.

Field Supervisor

Installation Supervisor on numerous International Earth Station projects

Involved on more than 100 satellite earth station installations ranging in size from 2.4m up to 18m antennas and associated electronics. Some of the duties performed were site surveys, installation, testing, Operations and Maintenance, training, logistics and in country Program Management. After September 11, 2001 supported the United States Military on Installations, testing, O&M, and in country program management of Deployable Ku-Band Earth Terminals(DKET) in adverse conditions within parts of Africa, Europe, Central and South East Asia and the Middle East.

Installed five (5) 7m antennas on 10m mounts and three (3) 9m antennas on 11m mounts in the Northwest Territories. Work was done during the end of summer beginning of winter and completed within two months. Duties were installation, testing, commissioning and logistical support.

Installed 7m antenna in Northern Africa. Project required civil work modification as customer had installed anchor bolts 180 degrees off. Installed new anchor bolts and erected antenna. Performed testing and commissioning.

Installed, tested and commissioned 11m antenna at the Balcarce Earth Station.

Installed M&C system in India for local TV company to monitor their two new 10m antennas.
