I have directed the Information Technology operations within the hospitals budget in accordance with organizational goals, best practices, and industry standards and benchmarks, along with providing technological resources to balance and overcome IT initiatives. As an IT Executive I had the responsibility and accountability for the overall planning, coordinating and directing of the IT department including, but not limited to network functions and connectivity, information systems disaster recovery, quality assurance, telecommunications, IBM server management, software development and support and project management. On a quarterly basis, I collaborated with senior management to align company information technology with strategic direction along with hiring and mentoring IT and EHR staff members. My greatest responsibility was to oversee the creation, maintenance, and compliance with policies and practices within IT, comply with relevant legal and statutory requirements, and meet principles of sound corporate governance, including, but not limited to HIPAA, PHI, HITRUST and HITECH compliance. That led to spearheading my team to implement a new state of the art Network Security system and an archiving system to ensure the safety of Patient Health information.

Responsible for the delivery of all MEDHOST, NOVAPACS, EMD’s and MCKESSON training, reviews, reporting and escalations as required by contracts.

Spearheaded Infrastructure Standalone Project and implemented HIS system that improved security, reliability, enhanced efficiency and established scalability for future growth.

Reviewed, approved, and managed all of the IT functions including annual operating and capital budgets in order to maintain an affordable and efficient cost structure.

Led the development of all operations supporting Electronic Health Records to meet meaningful use Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 with a tight budget and a deadline of six months at each stage.

Assisted and successfully filled for federal EHR Medicaid and Medicare incentives and received a total sum of $, 2058,245.40 in a span of three years of attestation.

Led the IT execution, strategy, and structure to implement a modern flash storage and backup solution to run simultaneously while providing 24/7/365 coverage maintaining 99.999% system uptime.

Prepared and executed the transformation of old technology with state of the art end user and mainframe devices with the ease of modifying from one central location.

Established new relationships with new vendors to acquire GPO pricing on many of the products purchased within the organization.

Saved the organization $25,000 on a monthly fee for hosting and maintaining our current EHR and HIS system.

Decreased the annual ticketing volume by 60% with quick attention to resolution and use of best practice methods that made the system more reliable and flawless. Primarily this was also achieved by making programming changes to our inbuilt software ticketing system.

Led all aspects of planning, developing, and implementing a Health Information Exchange (HIE) solution within the healthcare organization, affiliate sites and external sites.

Implemented Office 365 throughout the organization and saved the hospital a contract that cost $12,000/monthly.

Led the transformation of the organizations web page and intranet to a more secure and more mobile friendly user experience.

Transformed the entire communications network to comply with industrial standards and cut costs by implementing fiber optic connections internal and external with an MPLS architecture.

Successfully applied and received Federal and State funding for telecommunication and telemedicine every year since 2009. The funding provided for monthly bills to be only $500/month for all three locations with 100mb/sec.

Managed financial expenditures during EHR Hardware/Software planning, Implementation and deployment to meet approved levels at an approximated budget over a three year period of Meaningful Attestation.

Developed and Implemented online bill payment system to meet Meaningful use Stage 1.

Led the radiology department in a smooth and successful migration from HMS PACS to NOVAPACS within the first three months of hire.

Carried the role and responsible to administer and support the hospital PACS/RIS system, and present PACS audits and report at QI/QC meetings.

Oversee Wide Area Network (WAN) covering urgent care facilities and Outpatient Clinics. Maintain and upgrade EHR and HIS software for internal and external sites.
