Kforce Technology – Project Manager for Security Lab Build – Hewlett Packard – 06-2015 to 10-2015
This was a short term integration project to get a security lab up and running in the HP Sunnyvale data center. I documented all the equipment and sorted out the design to be implemented. The HP security lab was designed with all HP equipment and will support the investigation of Malware, Viruses, and other security issues that threaten computer information systems. I completed connecting all the equipment and completed the integration of one of three security enclaves. Finished the work and turned over the lab to the HP security team.
Pinnacle Technical Resources, Inc. – Technical Project Manager AT&T – 06-2012 to 4-2015
Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned global Hosted Data Center migrations, deployment/growth technical projects and provided a single point of contact for those projects. Advanced BioHealing – Senior Network Engineer Project Manager – 11-2011 to 1-27-2012
Assist with integration efforts between Shire and Advanced BioHealing (surge support) which was purchased by Shire. I managed the migration of technical assets from one network service provider the Shire MPLS network provider. Oversee IP addressing and routing between the existing four Advanced BioHealing sites to integrate with the Shire IP addressing plan. I managed the migration of virtual machines from Dell VMware platform to Cisco Unified Computing Platform (UCS). (07/05 to 12/05) I led managed the SAIC ONE-NET Network Engineering team for the Priority 5 OCONUS installations. I provided the leadership, technical guidance and planning for the engineering survey of over 70 buildings on 12 Navy bases spread throughout Japan. I also provided capacity planning for the ATM switches and related Ethernet infrastructure. I assisted with design of solutions for the inside and outside plant requirements and integration efforts.
(01/05 to 6/05) Provided System and Network Engineering for the CWID 05 (Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration) Supporting CWID 05 - CWID is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff's annual event that enables the U.S. combatant commands and international community to investigate command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions that focus on relevant and timely objectives for enhancing coalition interoperability. I was in charge of all network operations located at the SPAWAR Systems San Diego site, along with systems engineering and the integration of over 25 trials. Engineered and deployed network security and intrusion diction for a highly secure networking environment.
(4/03 to 1-05) I provided Network Systems engineering and Integration for SPAWAR 053 for Navy and Joint networks initiatives. Attend meetings and provide technical guidance related to network technologies as they relate to Navy objectives. I was involved with developing FORCnet related network integration and operational solutions. Participate in “Pilot” projects that relate to major Navy procurement efforts. Worked on the Common Link Integration Processor (CLIP) Pilot making sure FORCnet and Joint requirements are incorporated. I participated as a member of the Architecture sub-group for the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) Security & Technical Enterprise Action Group (S/TEAG).
(05/02 to 2-04) I provided network systems optimization and implementation analysis for the Tuba City Indian Medical Center TCIMC). I led the integration of new PBX, Tele-radiology, and clinical data applications into a single converged network providing services to the TCIMC and affiliated clinics. Completed the redesign of the computer room/data center to facilitate additional equipment and network technologies.
(01/03 to 03/03) SPAWAR Terrestrial Connectivity Study – Lead engineer as part of the Navy’s Shore Infrastructure Modernization effort that provided technical solutions to implement a consolidated high-speed tactical network backbone connecting the five major Navy communications sites (NCTS, NCTAMS). This was the initial work that provided the basis for the implementation of the High Speed Global Ring connecting the NCTS, and NCTAMS. Working with NETWARCOM we established baseline backbone requirements necessary to meet bandwidth and availability by and evaluating existing Navy circuits that will be consolidated onto the new Navy high-speed backbone. I evaluated ForceNet requirements to ensure that the new terrestrial network backbone met the dynamic needs for the Navy’s war fighting forces, which carries voice, video, and data communications. Developed Class of Service (CoS), and Quality of Service (QoS) requirements for each of the different types of services that the new high-speed backbone will carry including low-speed serial and crypto services.
(02-2002 to 05-2002) Provide Local Area Network, Wide Area Network management, and support for the Tri-Service Infrastructure Management Program Office (TIMPO) in Landstuhl, Germany. Setup the Multi Router Traffic Graphic (MRTG) server to monitor performance of the TIMPO Wide Area Network (WAN) throughout the European area. Provide technical project management and leadership with the implementation of the Picture Archive Computer System (PACS) being implemented at the three major hospitals and related clinics in the Landstuhl, Germany area. Design the implementation of the new security solution for the remote clinics at each of the clinics involved in the PACS project. Assist in the implementation of the LAN upgrade at the Landstuhl, Germany hospital installing Cisco 6509, Cisco 4006, and Cisco 3524 Gigabit Ethernet Switches.
Ensemble Communications (5/01 to 12/01) Senior Field Engineer
Ensemble Communications is a company providing Broadband Wireless Access equipment and technologies for telecommunications service providers. Provide implementation for Ensemble’s Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) equipment for domestic and international customers. I was responsible for integration of Ensemble’s BWA equipment into customer’s backhaul ATM network. Created and implemented Acceptance Test Plans (ATP) for customer’s acceptance of Ensemble BWA solution. I provided project management for upgrades, new installations, and ongoing support of Ensemble Communications BWA hardware and software. I assisted with the creation of Ensembles Customer Support system that tracks equipment, software, RMA, and other customer support issues.
SAIC (3/01 to 4/01) Senior Systems Engineer.
Provide high-level network design, analysis, and implementation services. Project lead developing the WAN/LAN Installation Design Plan (IDP) for the Navajo Area Indian Health Services (NAIHS). Conducted engineering assessment of T1 Frame Relay based WAN; coordinated activities with Indian Health Services West Albuquerque. I conducted LAN assessment at primary facilities in eight service units. Analyzed/recommended: redundant meshed T1 point-to-point WAN reconfiguration; Cisco WAN edge router upgrades; installation of Cisco LAN Layer 3 switches / network segmentation / prioritized services; implementation of DNS and DHCP directory services; new IP addressing scheme; physical plant upgrades.
Netergy Networks (7/00 to 3/01) Senior Systems Engineer
Senior Systems Engineer supporting sales efforts for Netergy Networks iPBX, Unified Messaging, and Service Creation products. Develop and present IP Service solutions to Netergy Networks customers made up of mostly Competitive Local Exchange Carriers, Network Service Providers, and Application Service Providers. These solutions focused on Netergy Networks hosted Internet PBX (iPBX), and Unified Messaging products. I also worked with Business Development on integration efforts with other vendor’s products (PSTN Gateways, Softswitch, SIP Proxy Servers, and Media Server). SAIC (12/98 to 6/00) Senior Systems Engineer
Project Manager of implementation for RateXchange’s hub deployment. RateXchange is a leading B2B e-commerce company providing a neutral online marketplace for trading telecommunications capacity. RateXchange provides the telecommunications industry with an efficient, centralized exchange that significantly reduces the time and cost of selling, buying and delivering bandwidth. RateXchange has over 6,000 members worldwide. Responsible for deployment of ECI Telecom’s Digital Cross Connect System (DAX) throughout the United States and Europe.
For FirstWorld Communications, document existing Data Centers and customer co-location areas. Help with the design of new network services backbone connecting the distributed IDCs throughout the western region. Design backbone and network routing plan using BGP and OSPF, and identify peering relationships. Help with the design and implementation aspects of selling wholesale DSL services.
Provided project management and technical leadership for Bell Atlantic’s DSL deployment. Oversee the installation and implementation of DSL equipment throughout the northeastern United States in over 400 Bell Atlantic Central Office locations. This included trouble shooting ATM and other circuit related issues during the deployment of DSL services. Develop configuration and scripts for the provisioning of Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Routers, Redback Routers, and Linux management servers.
Provide Level 3 Communications technical guidance, consulting and engineering services. Assist with the installation and deployment of Level 3 Gateways throughout the US and Europe. Provide ongoing management of Network Operations for the Level 3 San Diego Data Center. I also assisted with the ordering of new circuits for trading partners and the configuration of the equipment. Level 3 Communications is building an international communications network using Internet Protocol (IP) technology end-to-end.
Y2K network assessment for Catholic Healthcare West (CHW). I was in charge of assessing all of CHW’s core network components. (Over 30 major healthcare and hospital sites in CA, NV and AZ) I worked with the Netsuite Auditing and Y2K application at each of the major facilities to gather information on network routers, switches and communications equipment. Entered assessment information on each site into enterprise database where remediation and baseline efforts were coordinated.
Daou Systems 03-1997 to 11-1998 Senior Systems Engineer
Design, implement, support and manage advanced computer network systems primarily for hospitals, integrated delivery networks ("IDNs") and other provider organizations. These design services include an assessment of the customer's existing computer network system, the preparation of voice, video and data network specifications, technical design documentation and diagrams. Implementation services include the purchase, delivery and installation of enterprise-wide computer network systems.
My primary role was acting as Project Manager and Technical Lead for enterprise LAN/WAN implementations at large health care organizations. I managed a staff of network engineers who would assist with the staging, configuration, testing, implementation, and documentation of these projects. Projects range in size from $100,000 to $3 Million.
Alliance Information & Services (02/94-03/97) Principal Network Engineer
Alliance Integration & Services was a startup company that provided document imaging and networking services to the legal and financial markets. I was part of the initial 5 people at this company and was brought on primarily to develop network services for their customers.
Responsibilities: Assisted client management and technical staffs of credit unions and law firms with implementing client-server document imaging, and networking solutions. Provide systems engineering, network design, technical consulting, project management services, and internal research and development. Other responsibilities included vendor relations and company re-selling agreements.
I developed the internal office network, communications systems, file & print services, phone services, staging labs, and development servers. Was responsible for the setup company’s internal web services, firewall, and Internet connections.
LAN Systems (10/90-1/94) Senior Systems Engineer
LAN Systems is a large national computer integrator that provides network systems integration services with a focus on the legal and financial marketplace. Responsibilities included systems engineering, technical consulting, design services, and systems integration services.
Lead engineer in the implementation for the new San Diego Library Wide Area Network. This network spanned the entire San Diego County connecting all of the libraries that would provide its customers with improved customer service and Internet services. Responsible for installation and configuration of Cisco, Kentrox, and other related equipment. The successes of this project lead to a service contract and additional business. I Installed a Varity of LAN and WAN applications, which included Novell NetWare, Microsoft NT, email packages, network management applications, office automation, Lotus Notes, and other related software. Installed and configured many vendors LAN and WAN hardware which included Cisco, Wellfleet, Synoptics, 3Com, ADC Kentrox, Larsecom, Compaq, NetFrame, and other related hardware.
I was the Principle engineer for the design and implementation for the City of Carlsbad Local & Wide Area Networks. Designed, installed and maintained the City of Carlsbad’s LAN/WAN network which included both local area and wide area infrastructure. Integrated their DOS/Windows and Macintosh email systems so they communicate with each other.
