Title: INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL BASED PROJECT: INVERTED PENDULUM ON A CART Period: July 2013 – June 2014
Team Size: 4
The control of an inverted pendulum is a well-known and a challenging problem that serves as a popular benchmark in modern control system studies. The cart/pole system is a common test case for an inherently unstable system. Similar to the rocket at launch, the inverted pendulum required a continuous correction mechanism to stay upright. Essentially, the system consisted of a cart and a pendulum attached to it. Applying a force to the cart, through a built-in electrical motor, moving it forward and backward or through an upswing maneuver would cause the pendulum to be held upright. Title: SELF BALANCING SKATEBOARD
Team Size: 4
Period: July 2012 – June 2013
This project aimed at balancing a two-wheeled cart consisting of a 2 wheeled cart linked with a platform and gyroscopic sensors using adaptive control system.
Title: HOME AUTOMATION USING ZIGBEE TECHNOLOGY – SMART LIGHTING AND SECURITY Period: July 2011 – November 2011
Team Size: 3
This project aimed at controlling unnecessary electricity consumption and increasing the energy efficiency. This project was meant to automate the electrical technology in homes using the ZigBee Controller. Started out with a basic system
(dimmable remote control lights) and build onto the system as we learned about the additional capabilities the ZIGBEE technology offers.
Title: REMOTE CONTROLLED ROBOTIC CAR (WIRELESS ROBOT) Period: January 2010 – July 2010
