Professional Experience:

Currently working at Madras Engineering Industries Pvt. Ltd, Chennai as Maintenance Engineer from March 2014 to present.

Previously worked with MEC Shot Blasting Equipment Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore as Site and Installation Engineer from Feb 2012 to Dec 2013. Within this span have completed projects of GTRE (Bangalore), HAL-Engine Division (Bangalore), TRELLEBORG – AVB Division (Bangalore), IAMPL (HAL- Rolls Royce) (Bangalore), PRAXAIR- Surface Technologies (Coimbatore), Madras Engineering Industries Pvt. Abstract of Work Experience:

4 years of industrial experience in plant maintenance, shift breakdown recovery, commissioning and installation of special purpose machines.

Worked with conventional panel & PLC panel, control panel hardwiring, troubleshooting and its design.

Worked with troubleshooting and installation of closed loop and open loop control systems, servo drives(schnieder,Mitsubishi-mrj2,lenze,siemens,allen Bradley) VFD(ABB, Delta, Allen Bradley Mitsubishi, Fanuc ), valves (EI Magna valves)USA and Sensors (Limit sensors, Sapcon level sensors etc.) and their calibration and fine tuning.

Worked with transducers like Gefron LVTD and its controller.

Worked with transducer- controller like SMC, FESTO & Proportion air regulators (USA) etc.

Worked with PLC automated systems, panels and its installation (including the troubleshooting).

Designed and programmed various sequences, interlocks and looping in the ladder diagrams of PLC (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Messung, ABB, Mitsubishi (FX & Q–series), Omron, Delta SS) for special purpose machines like blasting, peening, boring, milling, air leak testing, clutch booster assembly operations.

Designed various electrical interlocks of pneumatics and hydraulics systems and troubleshooting.

Worked in mechanical systems too while in service (pneumatics, hydraulics, gear ratio calculations with N1 and N2 calculations with translation motion, AC motor wiring (DOL & Star Delta) and its troubleshooting.

Troubleshooting & preventive maintenance of HMC machines like Mazak (pfh-4800, nexus 4000 II), DMG(50H), Makino (A51 & J55), which covers over electrical, electronics, and mechanical aspects of the above mentioned HMC machines.

Regular or active member of 5 S zone activities or better improvements.

Maintaining track sheet for each machine breakdowns & parts description (installed, used, failed) etc.

Regularly implanting KAIZEN activities in critical machines for better life and increased up time of the machine.

Preventive maintenance of 11 KVA Transformer, frequent check of automatic load tapping unit of transformer & transformer oil, monitoring of C.T & P.T, maintaining log book for daily readings etc.

Monitoring& improving lagging power factor close to unity by implanting accurate capacitors at source or load side according to the load conditions.

Handling shift breakdowns and irritative occurrence elimination.

Handling new project developments and machine improvement works in general shift with teammates.

Projects Details:

Project#1: Clutch Booster 102 Dia

Project duration: 5 days

Description:

Clutch booster 102 dia is MEI new product for TELCO and Daimler (Chennai). The project is to implement an assembly line for the above mentioned product also to commission and prove out the reduced cycle time for assembly.

Roles and responsibilities:

Designing of PLC control panel.

Control and hard wiring of PLC input/output according to the assembly sequence.

Integration of speed photo sensors for faster sensing of job & part no’s with plc & HMI system.

PLC (Messung Nexgen 5000 series) and HMI (Messung Smart line 200EX) programming according to the required sequence.

Prove out of the assembly sequence.

Project#2: Cover Plate Milling R45-HMT Machine

Project duration: 7 days

Description:

Cover Plate Milling is a machining operation of SASA (Self Adjusting Slack Adjusters), a MEI product for Tata, TELCO, Daimler, Volvo, Ashok Leyland, Mercedes Benz, Bharat Benz, Eicher etc.

The project is to implement new operation sequence to the process of milling and also converting old relay logic panel to new PLC panel for lesser down time of the machine which includes reconditioning, decommissioning and installation.

Roles and responsibilities:

Designing of PLC control panel according to the new operative sequence.

Programming of PLC (Mitsubishi FX series).

Control and hard wiring of PLC input/output according to the operative design sequence.

Field wiring of the PLC panel and prove out of the required operating sequence.

Project#3: Paymaster Boring

Project duration: 6 days

Description:

Paymaster boring is a new machining process for boring of slack adjuster (Paymaster), a MEI product for Meritor group (USA). This project includes designing, commissioning and prove out, also it requires a special sequence in the process which is the specific repeated spindle orientation after boring operation ends to avoid tool line mark of the inset inside the bore which reduce the rework, the time and labor required for rework process.

Roles and responsibilities:

Designing of PLC control panel according to the new operative sequence.

Programming of PLC (OMRON).

Control and hard wiring of PLC input/output according to the operative design sequence.

Field wiring of the PLC panel

For repetitive correct spindle orientation, servo drive mechanism (Mitsubishi-mrj2) was introduced, using absolute encoder positions and proved out in this particular SPM machine.

Project#4: Cage Through Shaft Drilling (MTA machine)

Project duration: 4 days

Description:

Cage through shaft is a MEI product for Meritor group (USA). This project includes reconditioning, commissioning of an old MTA machine for drilling process.

Roles and responsibilities:

Transforming relay control panel to PLC control panel.

Designing of PLC control panel according to the new operative sequence.

Programming of PLC (Messung Nexgen 1000 series).

Control and hard wiring of PLC input/output according to the operative design sequence.

Field wiring of the PLC panel and process prove out.

Project#5: Clutch Booster Air Leak Testing 90 Dia

Project duration: 3 days

Description:

Clutch booster 90 dia is a MEI product for Tata, TELCO, and Ashok Leyland etc. This project is related to the testing process of clutch booster oil chamber leak. This project is a new special purpose machine for commissioning, installation and prove-out with the supplier (Srikrishna Techno System, Chennai).

Roles and responsibilities:

Programming of an existing PLC (Mitsubishi Q series).

Changing of control and hard wiring of PLC input/output according to the operative design sequence.

Process prove-out with supplier.

Project#6: Shot peening MEI Worm Wheel (MEC Shot)

Project duration: 20 days

Description:

Shot peening is a process of cold forging of any material or metal. This is a SPM machine supplied to MEI (Maraimalai Nagar, Chennai) plant for the shot peening process of their component EN -24 worm wheel by MEC shot blasting equipment Pvt. Ltd, this project was to improve the quality of the component like ductility, thus to increase the compressive stress on the component for larger shell life of the material .This project includes erection, commissioning, installation of the SPM at site.

Roles and responsibilities:

Project engineer

Erection& commissioning of the machine according to the layout specifications.

Checking the installation process & monitoring of the aspects.

Field wiring of the panel.

Changing of control and hard wiring of PLC input/output to the operative design sequence & mechanical, pneumatic interlocks according to the customer final process requirement.

Changing of plc (Siemens s7-300, cpu-314) logic according to the customer required process .

Helping customer in proving out of the process.

One by one eliminating of pending commissioning points for achieving a clear commissioning report from customer side.

Working with customer for developing their process and component trails.

Providing a proper training to the operators and technicians about the process, machine operation etc.

Providing a preventive, daily maintenance check list for maintenance technicians and engineers, also training by throughout knowledge about the machine critical parts &its operation.

Project#7: Shot Peening, HAL Titanium Air Craft Parts (MEC Shot)

Project duration: 45days

Description:

Shot peening is a process of cold forging of any material or metal. This is a SPM machine supplied to HAL Engine division (C.V Raman Nagar, Bangalore) plant for the shot peening process of their titanium metal air craft components like engine fan blades, door hinges, engine casings, shaft shells, bolts and nuts etc. by MEC shot blasting equipment Pvt. Ltd, this project was to improve the quality of the component like ductility, thus to increase the compressive stress on the component for larger shell life of the material. This project includes erection, commissioning, installation of the SPM at site.

Roles and responsibilities:

Project engineer

Erection& commissioning of the machine according to the layout specifications.

Checking the installation process & monitoring of the aspects.

Field wiring of the panel.

Changing of control and hard wiring of PLC input/output to the operative design sequence & mechanical, pneumatic interlocks according to the customer final process requirement.

Changing of plc(Siemens s7-300,cpu-314) logic according to the customer required process

Integration of a Fanuc Robotics controller -i2300 series with the plc system for six axis control i.e. X,Y,Z, rotational- x, rotational –y, rotational –z for better & full coverage peening of components.

Helping customer in proving out of the process.

One by one eliminating of pending commissioning points for achieving a clear commissioning report from customer side.

Working with customer for developing their process and component trails.

Providing a proper training to the operators & technicians about the process, machine operation etc.

Providing a preventive, daily maintenance check list for maintenance technicians and engineers, also training by throughout knowledge about the machine & critical parts & operation.

Project#8: Shot Blasting, GTRE- KABINI & KAVERI projects (MEC Shot)

Project duration: 36 days

Description:

Shot blasting is a process of metal chipping from the surface of material or metal to provide particular surface roughness value or surface finishing prior to a metal or paint coating process. This is a SPM machine supplied to GTRE,DRDO (C.V Raman Nagar, Bangalore) plant for the shot blasting process of their titanium metal components like gas turbine engine blades, turbine engine casings, shaft shells, exhaust pipes etc. by MEC Shot Blasting Equipments Pvt. Ltd, this project was to improve the component surface finishing prior to metal (tungsten carbide) coating, thus to provide better surface bonding between metal surface and coating material .This project includes erection, commissioning, installation of the SPM at site.

Roles and responsibilities:

Project engineer

Erection and commissioning of the machine according to the layout specifications.

Checking the installation process & monitoring of the aspects.

Field wiring of the panel.

Changing of control and hard wiring of PLC input/output to the operative design sequence & mechanical, pneumatic interlocks according to the customer final process requirement.

Changing of plc(Allen Bradley 1500 MicroLogix) logic according to the customer required process

Integration of dc servo drives(Allen Bradley) for x & y axis( ball screw) with plc system for horizontal & vertical job coverage using incremental encoder positions, also integrated with indexing turn table for indexed job covering for multiple position travel or coverage .

Helping customer in proving out of the process.

One by one eliminating of pending commissioning points for achieving a clear commissioning report from customer side.

Working with customer for developing their process and component trails.
