WORK EXPERIENCE
11/2013 -9/2015
ANGI Energy Systems
Janesville, Wisconsin
Product Development Lead Engineer and Chief Technology Officer
Managed product development initiatives, coordinated and managed product lines each with three PLMs, aided by staff of mechanical and electrical engineers (6 engineers). Developed equipment and processes for compressed natural gas fueling of vehicles. Assess and maintain product and technology development priorities within established budget. Collaborate with industry allies and suppliers to enhance and improve ANGI's technology position (ANGI - $110 MM Compressed Natural Gas Equipment Packager
06/2010-09/2013
Electro-Motive Diesels (Division of Caterpillar)
LaGrange, Illinois
Program Manager
NPI Lead,
Program manager reporting to engineering (40+ engineers) to develop a new four-stroke engine for locomotives meeting Tier 4 emissions standards. Conducted evaluation by DFEMA on the elements of development for all engine components and sub-systems. Development was conducted utilizing APQP and target costing profile achieved by early interaction with the supply base on the design configuration. Developed testing plans of engine performance and emissions to study in-cylinder combustion and emissions on single-cylinder engine at research facility prior to full engine development.
08/2008-12/2009
GE Power and Energy
Houston, Texas
Manager of New Product Introduction
New product introduction leader (advising a group of 100 engineers) at GE Energy for the use aero-derivative turbine engines (CF6) for power generation applications. Award winning speed of development – 10 months, achieving a system generating 100 Mw of supplemental power with just a few minutes start-up. Global supplier evaluation, financial analysis and contracts negotiations for long term program participation. Position utilized combination of skills obtained in Metallurgical and Mechanical Engineering background in turbine engine development.
03/1986-05/2006
Roll-Royce Aerospace North America
Indianapolis, Indiana
Director - New Product Introduction
Managed (group of 32 engineers) Mechanical and Test Equipment Design for Allison Engine Company/RRNA. Roles included working as project engineer on T800 helicopter engine program, T406 engine program for V22 Osprey, AE2100 and AE3007 engine programs for civil/commercial aviation. Successfully led project for development of a new off-site high-technology single crystal operation for airfoil manufacturing and development. The airfoils developed allowed Rolls-Royce to enter F35 fighter engine programs and support research with DoD. This operation was established well within program schedules and fully operational at 90 percent of budgeted cost. Significant engineering development of transpiration cooled materials for combustor and power turbine applications. Developed an organization (52 engineering & purchasing) from need to integrate manufacturing engineering and purchasing to accomplish the propulsion systems for Joint Strike/F35 Fighter. Managed large-scale projects, supplier relations in the proposal, award and performance of defense contracts.
