Electronic Technician II/ Field Service Representative

Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots all C4I systems (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence) in Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAPS) vehicles in support of SPAWAR Charleston and the Joint Services. Responsible for supervision of personnel, training of 15 or more personnel, analyzing systems, testing and installation of electronics and other equipment in various types of military vehicles.

FSR in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan (October2008-Jan 2013)

FSR’s duties includes the design of field installation, interconnection, and operation of communication networks and information systems used to transmit information and data and perform preventive maintenance on both hardware and software systems, switching, radio, cryptographic, and computer systems, which are essential links in the overall functions of communication. Repairing includes electronic installation/intergrading tasks, soldering, cable dressing, and making/repairing connectors. Installs, troubleshoots and performs systems checks for all electronic components to ensure proper operation. Also held training of United States military service members while deployed in Afghanistan on updated systems, new operational procedures and repairs.

Prepares shop drawings and sketches; reads and works from construction drawings and specifications; prepares distribution panels, public address equipment, electrical conduits, wiring systems, operates and performs checks for operator maintenance on vehicles; maintains and repairs tactical field telephones, and other communication systems.
