Extracurricular Activities

During these last four years after graduating. I have never stopped learning regardless of what my job may have entailed. I was presented a couple of projects from friends looking for help on certain subjects that I personally love. All of these efforts were through individual research and production. All though some are still incomplete I am proud of them and I have learned a lot.

Gloss Magazine Inc. Website Redesign

I agreed to help a friend redesign his magazine company’s website that is really popular in the San Francisco community called Gloss Magazine. Using GoDaddy as a hosting service and repurposing a WordPress layout I completed redesigning this magazine.

●Worked with PHP, HTML and CSS to create a responsive layout which I could customize to the customers liking.

●Worked from a customer designed layout in PDF form able to correctly replicate the deliverables.

●Provided solutions and advice to the customer when functions were either costly or jeopardized the layouts integrity.

●Applied my knowledge of Gestalt’s theory and categorization principles to create a coherent layout.

●Utilized CSS and the id tags within PHP and HTML in order to format specific entities within that layout.

●Learned the importance of tags within CSS for specific screen sizes and major web browser versions.

Android Application

Worked with the application, Android Studio, to be able to draw information from a database and calculates possible combinations based on a user’s input. Due my increase in my job responsibilities I haven’t been able to work on this that much in order to complete it. However, I have learned the basic tenants and structural ideas behind mobile programing and believe that I will be able to learn it quickly and efficiently.

●Researched the best ways to work with aspects of Android 4.4 and up to create an application that works across Android devices.

●Researched and implemented a fragmentation display using horizontal swipes to display different information.
