Ms. Fields has extensive background serving the needs of culturally, racially, and socio-economically diverse populations. She has taught children with special needs such as autism and PDD, as well as core curriculum classes. As a special education chairperson for PGCPS, Vera Fields’ responsibilities include: reviewing service delivery for all students with IEP’s in the assigned school, planning and conducting regular school special education department meeting, and completing all necessary paperwork in conjunction with compliance regulations and county procedures using the Maryland Online Program. As the SIT (School Instructional Team) Chair person, Vera Fields’ responsibilities include: Coordinating and scheduling meetings, referring and discussing students who appear to be in need of behavioral and academic interventions and ensuring the implementation of team recommendations and appropriate feedback to staff members and parents.
Ms. Fields is also a licensed esthetician in the states of Maryland and Virginia.
