Description: EMD product is introduced by Air Canada, which is maintained by Travelport. With this project, interface links with Travelport and Air Canada is introduced to handle EMD for GDS issued preferred seat booking. This part of the development is successfully loaded to production system Apollo GDS is activated for this phase.

Currently Sabre GDS activation is in progress and changes to issue EMD for Ancillary bookings from Air Canada system is internally being discussed on an Level 2 requirement level.

Description: Air Canada already had a product called E-upgrades which helped upgrade a passenger from economy class to business class, where passengers FQTV points were redeemed to fetch the facility.

Further enhancement was made to this product where along with credit points passenger could upgrade himself by paying a fare amount add-on to the credit points.

Description: Air Canada is planning to introduce various FQTV’s by introducing additional tier level. Initially there were four tiers involved like Super Elite, Elite, Prestige and Basic level. With the addition to tier levels various functionalities are changed.

Description: Currently, all Air Canada OAL and AC Marketed/OAL Operated codeshare bookings are made through the carrier’s direct channels (web sites, AC2U and call center’s) are booked, processed and ticketed directly in the RESIII host reservations system.

By introducing a new booking flow for OAL and Codeshare flight would allow requests to go through the partner GDS (Travelport) system content. This project would enhance AC with their current and future GDS interactive functionality.

Description: Building a Full Economics table with board point and off point information, and date range. This table was built to be used by availability entry to display classes depending upon the O-D logic already present in the system. A special sign was introduced for availability display to show that FE logic is applied to the board and off point.

The changes involved modification to EDIFACT and TTY packages to bypass the messages to GDS.

Description: The main purpose of this project was to introduce premium seat booking for JetBlue airline from Sabre system. We were involved in printing seat information on the passenger receipt documents.

There was couple of other projects executed similar to above requirements for accommodating seats and printing them. They were as follows:

: Removal of XT Tax

Description: The main purpose of this project was to allow 99 unpaid and 99 paid taxes. Initially taxes were present in the Fare calculation line. There was a limitation to the fare calculation data length, due to this the XT taxes were removed from fare calculation line and individual taxes were sent in EDIFACT in the TXD element.

The changes involved overall ticketing package and GDS ticketing back office updates. All the taxes were to be printed on tickets. (Maximum taxes would reach 198 – 99 paid and 99 unpaid).

Main highlights:

Currently working on extensive development projects (6 – 8 months span).

Have been involved in creating/initiating TPFDB records for major projects.

Experienced working on global.

Worked on input/output tapes (creating, adding, mounting real/scratch tapes to the system).
