Five years using copper metabolic mutants of yeast to address basic questions regarding copper uptake and distribution in cells.
Have used sterile technique growing yeast in liquid and solid media, UV-VIS spectrophotometry, gel electrophoresis, atomic mass spectroscopy, the radioactive isotope 64-Cu, liquid scintillation counting, high-performance liquid chromatography, high-speed centrifuges, and a microscope with micromanipulator.
