2003 - 2006 RELIANCE INDUSTRIES LIMITED MUMBAI, INDIA

Worked as a full time CONSULTANT for setting up a world scale Styrene-Butadiene Rubbers ( SBR ) and Thermoplastic Elastomers ( SBS / SSBR ) plants from concept to commissioning. Evaluated a number of International Technology licensors for the same and prepared a feasibility report and a business proposal for setting up a 150,000 tpa SBR plant.

1998 - 2003 CONSULTANT to Synthetic rubbers / Thermoplastic Elastomers manufacturing plants, Petrochemicals and Chemical Process Industry.

Also worked as Technical Consultant and a Director on the Board of ATV Projects (India) Ltd. from 1998-2000.

Worked on feasibility of revival of Synthetics and Chemicals Ltd.’s 70,000 tpa SBR, NBR and Latices Plant,

which was shutdown in 1999 and prepared a Revival Package for the same.

1994 –1998 ATV PROJECTS (INDIA) LIMITED MUMBAI, INDIA

Chief Executive Officer / Executive Director

Established and operated 30,000 tpa Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE) plant and a 15,000 tpa Compounding plant

as Profit Center Head. Also directed Project Engineering Division of the Company undertaking fabrication of chemical / petrochemical plant equipment and turnkey projects. reporting to Chairman

/ Board of Directors.

1991 –1994 HALDIA PETROCHEMICALS LIMITED KOLKATA, INDIA

Vice President – Polymer Plants:

Evaluated several Technology Licensers for setting up a 300,000 tpa Naptha Cracker for ethylene and its downstream polymer plants HDPE, LLDPE, PP, Styrene, Polystyrene, Butadiene, Polybutadiene and negotiated Technology agreements with selected licensers.

Appointed EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) consultants and contractors for execution of Styrene, Butadiene and Polymer plants and key personnel for operation of plants. Coordinated and monitored all the project execution activities for timely implementation of the project within the budget.

SYNTHETICS AND CHEMICALS LIMITED NEW DELHI, INDIA

1990 –1991 Chief Executive (Projects):

Established a 30 mil. Liters /yr. Distillery for production of Ethanol.

Partially executed expansion of the 40000 tpa synthetic rubber (SBR) manufacturing facilities to 70000 tpa.

Modified and upgraded SBR mfg. plant by addition of new facilities to produce Nitrile Rubbers in same plant.

Planned for setting up a 80000 tpa styrene and 40000 tpa Polystyrene plants.

1987 –1990 General Manager ( Plant ) BAREILLY, INDIA

Supervised, Operated and Managed production, material, technical, engineering and administrative functions of a 40,000 tpa Synthetic Rubber plant having its own manufacturing facilities for ethanol, acetaldehyde, styrene,butadiene production, steam / power generation, utilities and infrastructural facilities as independent Profit Centre.

Stream lined company’s operations to higher production and profitability.

Also monitored company’s expansion / new projects at site and coordinated with consultants, contractors and

Govt. authorities, commissioned and operated the same.

1976 –1986 Manager – Technical and Project Planning:

Lead Project Planning Group in identifying and evaluating new projects for growth and expansion of existing capacities, preparation of feasibility studies, DPR’s, selection of foreign collaborators, consultants, contractors,execution, monitoring and commisioning of these facilities.

Also continued to work as Company’s Head of Technical Dept. as detailed under Technical Manager below:

1968 –1976 Technical Manager:

Directed, supervised and controlled activities of

Process Engineering Division with 10-15 chemical engineers engaged in process design, optimization, Trouble-shooting, modifications to plant, preparation and review of Manuals /operating Instructions, Safety Procedures, monitoring and control of material inputs / outputs, energy audit and plant efficiencies.

Process Control, QC Laboratories and R & D Center covering testing / quality control of all raw materials,

Intermediates and finished products, development and approval of alternate sources of raw materials for cost reduction; setting process control parameters for minimum off-spec. production and standard deviation.

Developed several new grades of rubbers, polymers and related products such as Emulsion Polybutadiene, Low and High styrene rubbers, NBR, ABS, SAN, Styrenated Phenol, catalysts used in the plant;

Operation and scale-up of pilot plants and provided technical support to plant and marketing .

1962 –1967 Plant Suprintendent ( Latex and Rubber):

Commissioned Latex and Rubber plants as lead member of the team and later took charge of these plants as

Plant Suprintendent responsible for operation, production, process control, efficiency and safety of the plants.

Achieved production capacity, set-up process control parameters and maintenance schedules to achieve desired product quality and plant operating efficiency

TATA CHEMICALS LIMITED MITHAPUR, GUJARAT, INDIA

1959 –1962 Asstt. Suprintendent – (Soda Ash plant)

Worked through erection and commissioning of various sections of plant ie brine purification, carbonating

towers, filters, steam tube drier as part of its expansion project. Later took charge of the plant operations in shift

to establish designed capacity.

1957 –1959 Asstt. Process Control Engineer

Conducted process control and plant performance studies of a group of plants producing Salt ( sodium chloride)

and number of other Marine Chemicals such as Potassium Chloride, Magnesium Sulphate, Bromine and its salts

from sea water.

Travelled to EUROPE, RUSSIA, CANADA, BRAZIL, UK and USA several times in connection with Technology evaluation, raw material sourcing and business development.
