Contract – Lead QA Analyst/Senior QA Analyst/Technical Writer 2014 to present

Wrote a 270+ page user manual for Narragansett Bay Insurance outlining the features available with their new web based Stingray Homeowner system. Document included screen shots and walkthrough of edits, requirements and instructions for entry of policies and quotes for the new system.

Cross browser tested Narragansett Bay Insurance’s new external web UI for Stingray Homeowner system. This system is used by both agents and insureds.

Cross browser tested Delaware Life’s new Report Management System developed by IBM. Collaborated with Business Analyst on requirements, wrote test plan, test cases, executed test cases, reported defects, retested fixes, managed and facilitated User Acceptance Testing by Business Users. Collaborated with BA's on training materials developed for support.

End-to-end cross browser tested Delaware Life’s new Complaint Management System developed by I-sight. Utilized MS SQL Server 2012 to test back end data and extracts through front-end web UI. Executed tests focused on the verification of both the user interface as well as the Database. Wrote advanced SQL queries in validating test results and for troubleshooting.

Analyzed FM Global’s financial reports and verified output formats and data matched client requested enhancements.

Hanover Insurance 2004 to 2013

QA Lead/Senior QA Analyst

Facilitated SDLC end to end testing of the Policy Admin/Underwriting/Policy Rating Engines including: test design, test planning, test requirement analysis, test documents and defect management to test closure. Ensured that testing activities verified applications met business requirements and systems goals, fulfilled end-user requirements, and identified existing or potential issues. Reported test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.

Led and managed local resources on behalf of Offsite Coordinator and reported results to Coordinator. Managed QA Team and meetings in Coordinators absence.

Saved Hanover agency/customer goodwill and prevented the need to reissue thousands of policies by ADHOC testing the output issued by the newly introduced auto/home policy writing system. Identified a critical bug by testing outside the QA scope leading to a promotion and bonus for this above and beyond effort. Wrote training materials for Policy Tec on Microsoft Outlook, used by their trainers.

Developed business requirements for Applied Systems, Inc. developers, who were writing Insurance Company management and policy writing systems. Wrote requirements including rating, screen, underwriting and forms for the auto, homeowners and dwelling fire product lines. Performed quality assurance testing for their product, making sure it met their customers’ needs. Tasks included writing business requirements, edit creation and validation, data mapping, data validation and rate verification.

Trainer for AMS Services, Inc. Trained agents in 12 States, from Maine to Florida, in the use of the Personal Lines rating software. Demonstrated and trained agents on the use of the Automobile, Homeowners and Windstorm product lines.

QA Analyst with Allmerica Insurance working on the Umbrella, Watercraft and Underwriting Engine projects. Led onshore resources for the offsite Testing Coordinator and reported results daily. While doing this also acted as a Business Analyst and lead two team wide meetings discussing screen development.

As a Home Office Senior Operations Analyst analyzed data on a state, territory and regional basis. Reported results to Senior Management at CGU Insurance.
