actoh8@r.postjobfree.com e-mail me and I’ll call you back PROJECTS I HAVE DESIGNED & BUILT IN ENGLAND:
From concept to completion, all projects shown here were designed, detailed, approved and realized in England, from an on-line office in Canada. For decades pundits have prophesied that ‘one day, with computerization’ architects will be able to carry out projects remotely: ‘That day’ has been with us for many years! PERSONAL STATEMENT:
I am a British registered architect who has lived in Canada and gained considerable experience in North American construction techniques but missed European Urbanity and Place-Specific Architectural Design, stone buildings and broad leafed trees. I do NOT seek a relocation payment, but I dare not move back until I have a job offer as I have commitments and I want to retain flexibility over the city, town or village of my destination. Long term I seek a permanent senior position as an architect, but am perfectly prepared to start with a company on a short-term, temporary contract so we have time to get to know how we work together. EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s Degree with Honors - Architecture (Part 1) (1993)
• Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture - Architectural Studies (Part 2) (1995)
• Post Graduate Cert. in Prof. Practice - Architectural Practice (Part 3) (1995)
• Masters Degree in Urban Design - Urban Design (1995)
• Post Graduate Cert. in Education - Tutor ‘Art & Design’ to Adult Students (1998)
• All of the above Qualifications were gained at the University of Greenwich, London, England. Professional Affiliations:
Registered by the Architects Registration Board of United Kingdom (ARB) (1st Jan. 1996 - present) Chartered by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) (1st Jan. 1996 – Dec.2014) In 2016 I intend to apply to re-join the RIBA.

John Strong Partners 1996 - 1999
I returned to John Strong & Partners as ‘project architect’ on an extensive inner-city regeneration for the Westminster City Council in London, England refurbishing housing tower blocks to improve communal access, controlled recreational spaces and add infill units. I also designed several ‘Design and Build’ office developments, two new-build housing estates of 40 houses each, an industrial/science park with hotel and a retail complex. Watkins Gray International Feb’ – Oct’ 1996
I carried out detail design and project administration on a variety of Hospital projects including a Hydro-Therapy pool complex at Guy’s Hospital, a G.U.M. Clinic in West London and a Dental unit in Surrey. Registered by the ARB and RIBA. 1st Jan. 1996
Study and work had both shared a part-time/full-time role over the previous years. John Strong Partners 1994 - 1996
My duties included sketch proposals for new work, ‘Job Architect’ on a Post Office Sorting Centre, site administration and certification. I was completed my registration as an architect at this time. Prime Folio Ltd. 1993 - 1994
I prepared working drawing packages on a range of small housing estates, a Nursing Home for the elderly and a seven storey apartment block in Docklands, London. Granville Forbes Design Ltd. 1988 - 1993
