Project Title: Fabrication Of Solar Tricycle For Handicaps.

Description:

During my final year, I have worked on “FABRICATION OF SOLAR TRI CYCLE FOR PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED ” as my main project. The main purpose of the project is that we are living at a time when there is a greater awareness of the energy problem facing the world than at any period in the history. It is now widely accepted that the growth in energy consumption cannot be continued in the definitely as there is a limit to our reserves of fossil fuel. Solar energy is the alternative energy source for the future and the amount of energy which is available for conservation is greater than all present world requirements.

In our day life we are watching handicapped persons finding themselves hard to drive their tricycle for a longer distance which consumes lots of human power, on taking this to an account and especially considering the person who lost on of the hand. We have designed a cycle to fulfill the considering factors. The cycle is operated with the help of electric current generated using solar cell. The current generated is stored in a battery and supplied to a DC motor, where the rotary motion of the motor is transmitted to a linear motion on the road wheels through a pair of spur gears. In the cycle there are two rears gears and a front wheel, the power is transmitted to the rear wheels where as the front wheel is supportive one used in controlling the direction. The forward and reverse motion of the cycle is controlled by the switches and the left-right movement is controlled by using lever mechanism.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

Presented a paper on “HIGH LIFTING MACHINES” at Mallareddy College of Engineering.

Participated in seminar of Vaagdevi-2k14.

Developed a working type solar tri cycle for physically handicapped using solar energy.

Achieved a ‘Certificate of Proficiency’ in TSRTC working on “Diesel Engine Components” at Karimnagar.

Achieved C-level certification in NCC with A grade.
