EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Project Manager Saint Jude Medical

2008 2015

Saint Jude Medical (SJM) is a leader in the medical devices industry that manufactures state of the art implantable and external devices. One of the main divisions of SJM is the pacemakers and defibrillators for patients with heart diseases. I served as the Project Manager of the interrogator / programmer unit that is used to retrieve data from the device and program parameters onto the device.

Managed multiple releases of Java & C++ application development on the Linux-based interrogator / programmer unit, being responsible for the full development life cycle. Applied both waterfall and agile methodologies. Defined and improved business and development processes. Developed schedules with MS Project, assigned and trained resources, defined iterations and sprint planning with RTC, developed and executed plans, conducted Scrum meetings, monitored progress, produced reports, and delivered the end product to manufacturing.

Due to the highly regulated environment of the medical devices industry, I was heavily involved with the submission of our software to the FDA for approval, producing numerous documents, from planning to specifications and from design to testing. Provided support to the Regulatory and Marketing teams for pre-market submissions, prepared upon approval the final configuration of the software kits for field distribution as well as assisted our Technical Services team for addressing post-market field issues.

Led an ambitious effort for interconnecting the interrogator / programmer unit to the cloud and St. Jude’s remote care .NET servers. Performed investigation and technical research on various network interface options for WiFi and Ethernet connections, assured reliable transfer of the patient data via secure protocols such as SSL. Managed the implementation of the Connectivity solutions adopted and the required HTTP web services.

Had functional management responsibilities for numerous resources throughout the years. Supervised a total of 15-20 people and was responsible for their performance and career development.

Senior Business Analyst Saint Jude Medical

Served as the feature team lead for the programmer's patient management area. Responsible for the delivery of the UI that displays the patient info on the screen. Also responsible for the programmer's engineering test page that SJM personnel use to troubleshoot the device, read and program settings from/to the device, and initiate firmware downloads onto the device.

Wrote functional requirements for the operations of program parameters and read diagnostics from/to the device. Defined how the data will be presented to the clinicians and the use case flows that will need to be implemented. Performed various design reviews and monitored the development and testing of the requirements. Prepared device hazard analyses and risk assessments.

I served as a Solutions Architect for the AirBoss product, a gateway platform focusing on connecting wireless platforms to enterprise servers. The role provided extensive support and technical solutions to external customers.

Interfaced with customers to identify business needs. Prepared responses to RFPs. Provided support to Sales and Marketing. Defined technical specifications and feature definitions documents, guiding the development team towards their implementation. Reported software development progress and prepared onsite product demonstrations.

Systems Engineer Telcordia Technologies (Bellcore)
