Academic Project:.

M.Tech Project:

Title: Experimental investigation of friction stir spot welded Al 6061 and SPCC steel using different tool pin geometries.

Description: Al 6061 and low carbon steel SPCC sheets, whose thicknesses are 1.5 mm each are welded by friction stir spot welding process (FSSW) using three different tool pin geometries viz. cylindrical, square & triangular. Tensile shear failure tests are performed on the specimens. The effect of these three different geometries on the tensile shear failure load (TSFL) is studied and accordingly the best geometry for the combination is determined.

Machines used: Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) and Universal Testing Machine (UTM)

B.Tech Project:

Title: Experimental Investigation of shear strength on composite laminates.

Description: Experiments were conducted to evaluate shear strengths of composite as well as conventional materials like Copper & Aluminum. It was concluded that composite materials have much higher strength/ weight ratio than conventional metals & alloys. Hence they can replace these materials in various applications to achieve much better efficiencies.

Machines used: Universal Testing Machine( UTM)

Materials used: Al, Cu plates of 5-10 mm thickness, Carbon fibre plates of several alignments of same thickness.

Machines Operated:

CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine of Electronica Ruby 543)

Used for inspection of manufactured parts.

.

Certification Course:
