To Whom It May Concern,
I would like to be considered for the role of Data/TelecommunicationsTechnician. I am confident that my experience over the past year as an Installation Technician at Wallace & Associates Corporation, combined with my experiences as a technician at Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) have prepared me well for this role.
I am a self-motivated technician with over a year of dedicated experience in installation and termination of data, voice, copper and fiber optic cable. This past summer, I independently rewired an entire floor of the Toronto Star head office. This included running all data and voice lines, terminating and testing all cables and running cables through the new furniture. I’m currently travelling to their regional outlets to replace outdated hardware in office, warehouse, and production facilities. In my role at MLSE, I have been the lead technician for several Toronto Raptor games, which involves setting up all technical aspects of court-side, ensuring digital signage works throughout the arena, and troubleshooting any problems that arise. I also perform day-to-day maintenance tasks at the Air Canada Centre and MasterCard Centre, such as replacing and running new cables, TV installation, and installation of Rogers’ cable boxes. Through these experiences I’ve gained in-depth knowledge of all types of cables and connectors, including Cat5e, Cat6, 25 pair, quad, fibre optics, and RJ-45 keystone jacks and connectors. I am able to learn quickly, take initiative, problem solve and work independently. I enjoy the physical and environmental challenges of these jobs, as well as the planning and troubleshooting involved in installation. Finally, my previous experience as an Account Representative at Vicinity demonstrates my ability to interact professionally and develop relationships with customers, as well as effectively sell company services.
I would appreciate an interview to discuss this opportunity further. Thank you for taking the time to consider this application and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Frank Osborne
