-Relentlessly searched for cost savings opportunities pertaining to the packaging materials and plant efficiencies.

-Discovered then lead projects combined saving $286,600 annually.

-Participated in projects totaling $2,259,000 annually.

-Unquantifiable cost savings for the future of corrugated boxes in Smithfield with correct recommendations and labor savings at both the corporate and plant level.

Main Accomplishment

-Consolidated and standardized corrugated boxes throughout 8 fresh plant locations.

-Visited all plants in order to learn operations and the variables into why certain packaging materials can and cannot be used.

-Developed corrugated box tier system for future packaging engineer reference.

Material Qualifications

-Developed criteria and testing procedures for processing paper, Mylar film, corrugated boxes, and slip-sheets.

-Met in plant with vendors to conduct tests & qualify materials.

-Wrote up reports and presented to vendors and necessary co-workers.

-Recommended packaging materials for new products to be launched or products moving to different plants.

-Used tier system to standardize corrugated boxes going forward.
